Well we just seen Levi and Titan, so we'll probably see Shiva, Garuda, Ifrit and Ramuh too. Those will probably be split in 2, so 2 per raid tier. That leave room for 2 new boss for each tier. Yeah I understand the mixed feeling, but they are in fact new boss since they don't have the same mecanics, and I can't wait to see them in the savage version.

The fight were Ok in normal, I wiped on 2 of the new boss personnaly, 2 were one shot (including Titan). yes there were some death, but it was just normal, once we've seen the mecanics, we can avoid it easily for the rest of the fight, especially with all those orange marker. But I do feel they will be challenging in savage mode.

My mixed feeling are the increase of the drop rate for normal content here. At some point, I understand that many players don't want to re-run them many time in a week to get a piece of drop, but at the same time, having all your drop in the first kill means for many no more reason to run it until the next reset...

On drops, it depends on if you are going for certain pieces still or if you don't care what you get as long as you get something. I got lucky managing to do both on my first run through of each except for a body piece in E1 before I remembered it'll probably still take four for it, but I can get that next week.

As for "reused" bosses, Leviathan is very much a different boss compared to the Source one, if anything its closer to Shinryu. Titan meanwhile is more similar but the bigger focus on landslides makes for an...interesting time. And still makes it a fair bit different from Source Titan.

Just when I thought I'd mastered Titan, he comes back a fourth time with some new Landslides to kill me... Why do you have to murder me in every new expac, Titan? What did I ever do to you?

That aside, the story was kind of sparse for this first tier. Eden's not even really a character, though it remains to be seen if that'll change. The music is pretty great, though.

From the way things have set up, I'm expecting a nice fight where Ramuh urges you to defeat him to save the First, a somber fight with fake Ysayle, and Ultima Weapon being the final boss since it's the source of Eden in VIII.

There weren't any major revelations for the story, but it seems pretty clear that they're setting up some really exciting things.

Just finished it, it was a lot of fun~ The visuals and music was great. That first boss transition was so FF summon cutscene <3 :D.

I am really looking forward to making The Empty whole. I do hope we can move a bit more around later though, we're confined to a small space and I wanted to touch that crystal lol.

Really sad that we are just re-hashing ARR primal fights. They could have at least mixed them into FF VIII fights. Leviathan becomes a NORG multi-target fight. Titan becomes Brothers; Titan+Ga Bu from Post ARR quests. Music remixes are just awesome. Really glad how Soken did them.

Lacked story, fighting ARR primals again. Looks to be the remaining primals for the next tier too so it is what it is I guess. Disappointed though. Wonder if Nomura being designer backfired on them and he couldn’t devote as much time needed so they went with reusing what they had after 1&2. Understandable as he has a lot going on atm obviously.

Music was great though even the empty music was major nostalgia kick. For me the first fight and music are the only positives.

Well, there are only 6 elements and 12 fights total, so we should get new bosses for half of them.

If you really want to complain about getting "reused" primals, we already fought Titan twice before this raid tier in ARR since Phelgaton is called Titan in Japan for the CT series (it was a mini-boss in III or something like that).

Plus the fact that the bosses really do look different. Chaos looks closer to Sephirot than Eden!Titan does to ARR!Titan.

One shot mechanics are OK for normal raids if they don't require fast reaction times like in Savage and Ultimate. The majority of those that fail these mechanics are new players. And given that this is the first day, then it's only natural to see people struggle with them. Once people do them 2-3 times, these mechanics will be of almost no threat.
