Guess I will have to keep shouting and hope someone helps. Although off topic, they could of involved the companions in this quest line as well...That is to say, would be nice if your companion could help. Think I got a new idea for a new thread!

Oh why did not I think of that lol
But in essence, it's the same design problem. I mean, it's unfair that you could ask your level 50 paladin friend for help on your job quest but that you can't (in theory) use your own level 50 paladin.
That said, I like the challenge provided (in theory) by these fights a lot, I would just like it to be more consistent and fair. I-e, same difficulty for everyone (solo or level capped fight), or if it's not meant to be necessarily challenging, no point in forcing restrictiions
In fact, that also works with the NM monster quests. You can put on a 50 job, leave them almost dead, run away till they disengage, switch to quest job and finish them.
Personally, I think the first case (being able to switch classes inside the instance) is working as intended since most battles do require balanced teams, but the second case (damaging open world NM on a class and finishing it off on another) is not.
There is no way you can solo this as a 30. As someone has stated I thought it was easy also from reading all the threads. I entered the instance and was destroyed by bursts of magic within seconds. If the mobs didn't all aggro at once I probably could have survived but that's not the case.
Couldn't solo the Bard quest at level 39 archer. Protect, Stoneskin, Raging Strike, Invigorate, Quelling Strike, and Featherfoot before combat. Shadowbound one target. The other three came. Got one down to low health. Shadowbound creature broke free. Couldn't recover enough HP. Realized homepoint was in Ul'dah. Fled.
The enemies have a LOT of HP, hit pretty hard, with multiple enemies, and attack all at once even when scattered (so you can't pick them off one-at-a-time).
Setting that aside, knowing that a party of 4 at even level is having difficulty is quite depressing, but very believable considering these foes. Hoping I can avoid switching to the 50 or having 50's along while doing some of these.
