Trust Companions of 2.0 to 4.X

If they're tying trusts to what characters are available in the story at that point, it causes issues because our would-be trusts usually have a canonical reason to be elsewhere while we tackle the dungeon.

But Estinien and Ysayle (and Alphinaud) would absolutely work for at least Sohm Al and the Aery, as long as we can find a tank. Could make Estinien a tankier version of dragoon, or maybe Ysayle can transform into Shiva because there's so much ambient aether to draw on.

I feel like someone should go through all 50 of the current Main Scenario required duties (I'm including the hard mode trials for Ifrit, Garuda and Titan in this number) and see who IS actually available to come along with us.

DR:Guildhests and DR:Mentor handle parties of (4 or 8) and (4, 8, or 24) just fine.

I suspect the 2.0 to 4.X trusts maybe releated to Side-quests considering they already have a set story for those contents and reasons why they are not around. Probably going to be like FF11 Trusts where we have to find them and unlock them through new side-quests that appear once we reach X point in the MSQ or completed their personal Side-quests or region side story quests similar to how FF11 obtained a good amount of their Trusts.

Right, forgot about those; my bad. Not sure why they're in Leveling Roulette, then, other than they're different from other trials.

I'd personally like to be able to recruit job and class quest NPCs as trusts. Most of these NPCs get little love outside of the quests that directly involve them (Hilda and Estinien probably being the most notable exceptions, though some others have been used outside of class/job quests, if only a little)

Definitely Arenvald for our Tank Trust in 4.x content, while we're in Gyr Abania. If we're over in Othard, the picking gets harder.

Sadly, no Alphinaud or Ysayle for the Aery.

In the quest "Ready to Fly", Estinien dissaudes Alphinaud from joining, and its a voiced cutscene, so difficult to rewrite, I would have thought. Also, Ysayle is moping over at Zenith at this juncture, so out of action as far as the plot goes. It's a lovely idea, to increase Trusts to include every 2.0-4.5 dungeon, but I can't see there always being readily available NPCs on which to draw, sadly. At the very least, it may be possible to retrofit those dungeons where, like you've already mentioned with Sohm Al, a gang of NPCs is on hand to jump in.

Really, Estinien probably can't be used for the Aery either. He's already there for other purposes.

I hope that one of the Trust Companions for 2.0 to 4.X is the 1.0 Companion.

the 1.0 Companion is the original Trust Companion for FF14 and it will be nice to bring that person back of course with first questions to answer so players can determine who that Companion looks like and what personality the 1.0 companion has.

Also, include dialogue in the Side-quest to obtain the 1.0 companion to represent if your character is a 1.0 era character (with their memory back if players complete 2.0 for slightly more change in dialogue) or 2.0 era character.
