"Your friends have 2+ elemental levels on you? F*ck you!"
In a nutshell.
If anything they need to nerf anemos and pagos again to where it goes by quick.
I did two sets of +1 armor and two weapons. I know I didn't hit 18 hours just for one weapon.
Either you are exaggerating to make a point, or you have had many instances where most of the instance population was AFK/Bunny and only a small group was spawning NMs.
The drop amount of crystals isn't bad. What is bad is the instance not participating.
Quickmafs:
Based on your numbers:
Min Avg: 5 Crystals per drop
Max Avg: 10 Crystals per drop
One weapon is 350 crystals
Min Time Frame: 18 hours
Max Time Frame: 36 hours
No Ovni Spawns
No Support Fates happen
350 Crystals/18 hours = 19.4 Crystals an hour
If we do Min Avg: 19.4/5 = ~4 NMs an hour
If we do Max Avg: 19.4/10 = ~2 NMs an hour
350 Crystals/36 hours = 9.72 Crystals an Hour
If we do Min Avg: 9.72/5 = ~ 2 NMs an hour
If we do Max Avg: 9.72/10 = ~1 NM an hour
So, what you are telling us that people are only spawning 1 to 4 NMs an hour? If so, then this isn't a drop amount issue: this is a lack of participation issue.
The crystal requirement to elemental armor pieces isn't that bad but I do agree people not participating in spawning PW really sucks and you need his parts in order to get your relic. One time it took close to 3 hours killing trash in order to spawn PW. You cant get a dedicated 2 or 3 group of players to stick by and spawn PW. They should of just made bird watcher sell the parts or make PW drop 30 crystals like the support fate in there.
This might be different on your data center but on Light this is sadly the norm. This is what happens most of the time:
- Ever since the datacenter split we only have one active instance of Hydatos active most of the time
- People spawn the left side mobs, since they are easy and fast to spawn
- When Ovni pops everyone run to him
- If you are lucky people start spawning Daphne (also somewhat easy)
- After that people either try to convince the train to spawn Ceto (means getting murdered by snekeladies for hours) or PW (killing Claws for hours on the off-chance to get scales).
Finding a train that actually tries to spawn the other right side NMs is rare. So unless your'e with the instance from the beginning you are pretty much screwed if you come into a instance done with the left side NMs.
They really need to adjust the drop/spawn rates for NMs here. And I don't understand why they didn't add the scales to the birdwatcher with this patch.
While the crystal gain is kinda low, that's not the main issue, as others have eluded to. The main issue are the meme right side NMs and that they're way too bothersome to spawn; if PW wasn't mandatory, we'd see it just as rarely (= almost never) as the others.
Had an instance yesterday where the whole train was at claws, even though only half participated (but that's another problem entirely), with a fully stacked tank constantly pulling packs of 10-15 and it still took us 45~ minutes to spawn - which is just ridiculous.
The whole experience would be way smoother if we could actually do all the NMs without wasting hours on spawning half of them.
Honestly hope the Scales are purchasable upon Shadowbringer's launch. So I can start off with a stronger weapon than my Augment Scaevan weapon, but PW seems to take FOREVER to spawn. I was lucky to fight it once, but was level 57 at the time so no Scales for me. And it looks like people have been busy preping him, but it didn't spawn last night and currently working on PW right.
I seriously wished they nerfed/buffed Hydatos to spawn PW more easily or let us buy the items. It's such a drag and doing all this work with no PW in sight is just killing my patient and I don't even want to do another Eureka-type of content ever again because of this.
I'll do Eureka when it gives PotD levels of EXP. Or heck, even normal, on the field levels. Not Chinese grindfest from 2003. Gave Anemos a good, long try. I really did. But just...
No.
