Online turned Real Life Harassment

Anyone claiming that this is only a Balmung problem clearly hasn't been paying attention to well... anything. On of the biggest and most proliferate cases of this was the whole situation with the TMP. In retrospect it is best to be as careful as possible on the net, wait to share your discord info until you know the person better. As for IRL info... that one is trickier as some of these people can keep the con going for a really long time, so there really is no good time for that. Pretty much sharing that info will always put you at risk no matter what, because you will never know until after the fact whether it was a mistake or not.

My biggest issue with what goes on is it seems the biggest mouths have the smallest backbone. I’ve seen cases where a person would harass someone the whole dungeon yet the mom the person defends them self by giving it back they cry to the GM. Back in the early days of social gaming someone talks trash to you l, you gave it back to them. Nothing got reported unless it got out of hand

I believe the only way to clear out a name is if you move to a new data center. When Balmung opened up recently, we had some new transfers from a different data center, and they said that it cleared out their friends list. I haven't tried myself, so can't confirm if true - but maybe someone else can shed some light.

If it is true, it may be an option if you're completely desperate.

Oh, that's right. When moving to another data center, all names turn into Unable to Retrieve. But yeah, works only if you switch dc. If you stay in, say, Aether, you still can see everyone's names. Such an outdated system. If I remove someone from my friend list, I wanna be removed from that person's list as well :/

That is a massive misconception at best. Are there people who ERP on the Aether Datacenter? Yes. And can some of them be a bit out there? Yes. But it is hardly a Balmung/Mateus or even an Aether Datacenter exclusive. As a matter fact there is at least one fairly decently sized ERP FC on Hyperion, and there are likely more scattered throughout the other servers on Primal as well as Chaos.

Why does this game always needs special treatment. Happens everywhere, it even was on runescape back in the 90's.

You have blacklist and you can blacklist on Discord and on other social media chizzle too.
If they stalk you in real life go to the police.
Problem solved.

I've been blackmailed & stalked myself (wasn't due online games though), set your pride to zero for once and go to the police. They where always kind enough to solve it for me.
