I don't know you so I can't really judge, but you might want to take a look at some of your posts and think about how you are presenting your argument. It sounds an awful lot like the problem is that you can't get the specific plot you want and are wishing you could just solve the issue by throwing gil at it.

Balmung needs housing for the roleplay community that actually uses them on a daily basis. Switching to some other barely populated server in order to get a house that you're the only person that will ever be in is a ridiculous solution and always has been.

A house can be used for more than RP and RP can be done without a house.

Its not like Balmung would have a greater need for housing because of RP but because your server is to full.

I like decorating houses, for example - there is no need for anyone to use them afterwards, I had a lot of fun spending several days placing and replacing furniture. When I was a child I had a dollhouse that I would only redecorate ever so often, but never actually play with. So a house on a smaller server can mean something indeed.

And others have already mentioned ways around your lack of a house for your RP - use an FC- or friends-house or look for someone who has opend their house for RP (with the new estate tags that might even be easier now!), get an apartment or FC-room. Roleplay as homeless person or as nomand. Join a smaller server that has RP going on aswell.
Choose whats more important to you - your own home or your RP-community?

I know this sucks but within the given system you can only for the way around it that works best for you.

The house flipping way of old was great for established players, it was not new player friendly in the least bit. Seeing the second hand prices on the reselling reddit for the first time was incredibly discouraging. My former FC paid around 80 mil for a beachfront cottage. I ended up paying around 24mil for a cottage with a bad view and my two closest neighbors were empty buildings a different reseller was sitting on. As frustrating as the random timers can be, anyone who camps has a chance of getting a plot now. Within the last week and a half, there has been 1 open large, 2 open mediums, and several open smalls (with 3 being purchased by lucky people when patch went live this morning).

I haven't had a chance to enjoy the new patch yet, but the notes said that there would now be a way to identify both a house as a rp venue and what kind of rp it catered to. Regardless if someone has/does not have a personal, there are plenty of venues on the server.

I am not pretending that it only affects Blamung - but it only affects the larger servers this badly. There are plenty of open houses on smaller servers.

And less flippers means that more houses belong to people actually using them and not just sitting on them for someone to pay them the insane amounts of money (both ingame and real) to let the plot go.
Throwing money at flippers doesnt increase the number of houses on your server and with the current system there will never be enough houses for everyone on Balmung.

Right now its at least people owning the house because they want the house - not because they want to make a profit (...except from the garden and airships, obviously...)

What about the people who want a house, but have friends on their servers? What if they own Free Companies? What if they don't have money to server transfer? I think you're being a little insensitive to the players who can't just pack up and leave so they can get a house. The fault lies with SE and the flaws they made when they made these housing rules, and housing in general really. You're basically saying "Stop crying and move if you want anything" and I think you need to check yourself. Not everyone can just up and leave. SE needs to do more on their end to fix these issues, issues that THEY created but as usual are too lazy to fix.

Can't speak for Mateus, but Gilgamesh isn't that bad anymore. There are smalls going up for sell pretty regularly in all districts and occasionally a medium. In fact, my friend stumbled upon an open medium just last weekend.

Understand that back when it was still possible to flip houses we had shameless sellers charging hundreds of real dollars via Paypal under the table. There were small homes being sold for 80 mil gil in game. Or entire FCs swarming around a plot just to snatch the property for their own.

It was terrible and there was no way around it when rich players dominated the market. As unfair as the randomly timed click war may seem, trust me, it's far fairer for everyone than it was.

There's nothing fair about it. What about those people who stay up all night to buy a house, just for some random a--hole to come and relocate on it, forcing the waiting player to go back to square one? If anything they need to put a limit on relocation if it's gonna affect these BS random timers.




I remember trying to get a house in Goblet once after these new rules. The house was right next to the Brimming Heart and I waited there for HOURS. Then some random dude shows up and relocates his house at the house I was waiting to buy! You can bet me and him had some words with me cussing him out at the end. That was time and patience I never got back. This is some of the sh*t SE has done to the housing system and it's beyond disgusting.

Allowing house-flipping again is not one of those things though.

The housing system is far from perfect and I'm crossing my fingers for increased apartment-sizes, but stopping the reselling of plots through the random-timer is a step into the rigth direction. It might not be a perfectly fair system either, but its a lot better than someone just being able to throw money at it.

Putting bandaids on the problem won't fix it and this current issue is clearly a band aid that SE won't remedy.


Talking to white knights who refuse to see the flaws but continue to defend SE's laziness is like taking to a wall...no progress comes from it.

...okay, you really need to take a deeo breath, calm down and stop throwing insults and swear words around, because thats only going to make people - including possible GMs - not take you seriously.

No one here claims that the system is perfect, but as it stands right now its the best we have. And we should definitly ask for it to be improved - for example by allowing apartments come in the size of all types of houses, if they dont to do real, instanced housing, but just sitting around, screaming how unfair you feel you've been treated by everyone and the world isnt going to make this change happen.

We ARE better off with the random timer and without the house flippers - as much as you might hate that you got screwed over there.
And all your talk about fair... you're confusing throwing time, money and effort at something and therefor being entitled to it, to "fair". A system without a random timer and with house flippers isnt fair either - it rewards those people who have the time and/or money to pay fees that they shouldnt have to pay. Thats not fair to the new player, who just started the game and cant get a house because they dont have 80 million gil, either. Thats just beneficial to you.

And the person relocating to that spot right under your nose? Who tells you that thats not the plot they've waited to get for months and years?
I would be okay with the random-timer applying to relocations aswell, but seeing as they leave a plot behind, its not first priority.

I'm also quite sure that the RMT-involvment in housing went down quite a bit since they added the timer - maybe they didnt manage to abolish it, but as far as I'm concerned any little bit helps here.

Please stop calling people "White Knights" when it clearly doesnt apply - no one here is saying "I LOVE this housing system! Its the best housing system EVER!", but we're trying to be rational about it and realise that they cant fix it with a finger snap.
No, the housing system isnt perfect.
But insulting people - wether its another player or SE - wont make it better.

The random timer helped to solve one problem. Personally I'm now keeping my fingers crossed that they're going to solve another, by potentially adding medium and large apartments. Yelling at anyone wont achieve that, however.

In what world is RMT house flipping more fair for players than a random chance to purchase a plot? Especially when relocating to a plot leaves the old property relinquished thus soon to be available?

If you would read what I wrote, I did not say the system we have now is ideal, I said it's more fair than RMT house flipping exploits we had before that extorted players unfairly.
