Does this thread name and shame?!
On topic; things change, go figure. Deal with it.
45 is plenty time.

Why should it be name and shame? Yes my name is in it but its not like she used it to be angry at me or something. It was a bit strange to read it but I see nothing wrong with that. I mean in at least one topic I was once told by a poster how I suck because I dare to still have something so old in my signature and cant let go of it. Since the GM never told me its wrong to have it I just dont care to take it away because it is just one of that broken promises.
Also 45 days is like 1 1/2 months of a break. In a game were they told us to take breaks if we grow bored and in a game were the patches take 3-4 months to release, its way too low. 90 days would be good because its the time between patches thus if people want to take breaks (like Yoshida said we should do) they can at least play something else between patches if they are bored (its not like every single house owner would always take a break between each patches) and if they dont come back for the new one then you can take their house away.
Relax, it was a joke.

It wasn't actually 5 years ago. The things he promised didn't changed now. Personal housing was added in 2014, and was a total mess. And that houses getting destroyed was added in 2015.
That's only 1 and 2 years after he made the promises.
Also yes, people can change what they have said. However, it's bad reputation for Yoshi and SE and the playerbase will lose trust. You can change what you say - but you have to deal with the consquences. And when that means we will still point at that broken promisees years later, then you really messed up with that... but hey, you can change again what you have said ^^
Unless it's a legally binding contract that can be enforced via law, which were invented precisely because people do not always keep true to their words. Just think how much money we could save in court cases if people never backed down on their words.
To me, the quote just means that you should take everything Yoshi says with a grain of salt. And since he says a lot on a good day, it's no surprise people get salty quick.
A lot changes in a year particularly in the realm of business, and not to mention active players and subscribers. I'm pretty sure the complaints would be more worse in volume if SE stuck to their initial promise.
Also before you make the argument instanced housing. That wouldn't go so well on their current system, not to mention for it to even work would require significantly cutting down on the different objects or items you can use in your house and potentially fixed placement of any objects. So you'd probably end up with housing that is equivalent to Runescape housing, only better graphics. Imagine storing potentially over a million instances?
Sure SE probably should have never made that promise but, again, a lot changes in terms of business, and active players.
