I would be fine with that. Especially now that they have the mini one.

I don't see that lighting should be a problem considering each floor has it's own chandelier. It's definitely the one of the two I'm more interested in since lighting has a big impact on atmosphere.
Sounds can definitely be separated by floor. There's a certain point when going up and down stairs that sounds from things like the Shower Stand completely cut out instead of fading out as with distance. I guess it depends on how the Orchestrion actually works.
Amen! This needs to happen...like two years ago. It's very hard to set the mood and roleplay, or showcase certain themes with the lights being fixed to being the same level on all floors. It's a headache.
Yeah, I imagine the orchestrion would be harder to make work. I'm OK with just the lighting if that's all that's feasible.
The orchestrion I assume would be made to work by creating invisible zone dividers on the stairs between floors, similar to the sorts of map transitions we see in some dungeons. Of course, only SE knows how it could actually function.
The zone lighting for the house seems to genuinely come from the chandeliers in each room based on the ability to change the light by changing the chandelier (eg diamond chandelier) and the ability to create dark spots with the use of partitions, which block the light. SE can definitely create separate light sources, as my wall lanterns all glow independent of the fact that I have the zone lighting set to 0 and of course many lamps can be turned on and off at will by the homeowner. I think the lighting is very doable. It's the orchestrion I think is more questionable.
