Cash shop pricing is getting a bit much...

Why are we using “sticker shock” in reference to the total price of individual items that you added up yourself? Sticker shock usually refers to singular items being priced way higher than the norm or higher than expected, not when you add up a bunch of smaller items until they become expensive. If you’re just going to add up prices you could accuse anything of sticker shock.

It’s not even a matter of SE raising prices because “Promotional” Outfits have always been $18, non-event barding has always been $10, and account-wide mounts have always been $24. Is your issue that you want most of the new items and SE hasn’t set up discounted bundles?

Oh wow...they are really reaching with these items. Because I can't help myself, I'm going to buy the mount, but good grief, the prices are indeed starting to get ridiculous. I'd expect this from a F2P game...not a sub game. Taking into addition the extra costs for retainers, the upcoming app...yeah...I agree with Riyah, if the app wasn't a sign that we're entering greed territory, if the Shiva statue wasn't a sign that they were definitely entering greed territory, then this should cement it.

All for the love of more FFXV DLC nobody asked for, or the FF7 remake that is probably costing them too much money to develop ( I feel like it'll end up crashing and burning like Xenosaga).

My view on the set was simple I will literally never use it, why buy it? I'll buy the demonic set when it releases, but not this.

While I do believe the Mogstation has seen far too frequent an update lately, I cannot entirely call this cementing their greed. Everything added is in line with how much they have changed for Chinese Exclusives since the Eastern Togi debuted. We are never going to get these exclusives in-game nor will they abruptly make them cheaper.

I do and don't agree at the same time. It's not fully cemented, no, but taking into account everything for the 4.x patch cycle, it feels like we are pretty close to that road. Maybe the prices won't go up...but once this app releases, I'm worried that the trend will continue in this manner. Maybe because it's exclusive, the pricing is justified, but on the other hand, it just leaves a bad taste in the mouth. The timing for this could not have been worse...at least for the West. Of course, I am also speaking from the perspective of someone who is jaded from FFXV and disappointed in Dissidia NT. I dunno...it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth...but not enough that I won't buy that mount today. (Kaiva would totally look badass on it...I can't resist)

I'll buy the mount when the 50% off sale is back. But 24$, yea thats a big no from me. Thats almost have the price of a game.

Well, that's when they pushed the envelope last time. I faintly remember hearing something about licensing issues that would force a higher price back then, but the Carbuncle stuff kinda busted that theory. It was just inching a bit further.

Honestly? For digital items, the prices have always been completely outrageous. Even the cheap recolors are like 1/10th of an entire game. It's nothing really new.

It's the same prices as the Carbuncle mount(s) and Carbuncle outfit(s).

Well with those prices this game really needs to go F2P.
Tired of seing nice stuff added to the MogStation which cost the price of a month sub.
I know some people will say it's optional but hey FFXIV as a MMO with a subscription model base, I'd rather be able to have the possibility to get these nice stuff ingame too even if it would require hours of farm.
Seasonal items of past events was OK but damn now it's going out of control for a non F2P game imo.

I think the bigger question is, where IS this money going? I'm no software developer nor am i any kind of expert on how companies budget their money, but it does make me wonder how much of the month from the subs and mogstation actually goes back into the game.
