Why cant i play my harp in dungeons?

Pretty much this. I used to hang around the Limsa aetheryte plaza, but since this feature comes out I bolt away from it as soon as I teleport in since there are always a bunch of people harping away around it.

Because while you may want to perform, three other people may just want the dungeon over with.

Can you not set filter to not play sound from perform?

Because heaven forfend you actually sing as a Bard.

You’re going to clip all your song abilities with Archery and you’re going to like it (!) When have Bards ever been known to do anything other than shoot arrows?

You can mute performance sounds, so I dont see any issue with this.

No, they added 'performance' as a separate slider in 4.2.

Because you're there to clear the dungeon, and duty finder is enough of a meme as it is.

I’d be more than happy if they added aspects of poetry, speech and/or magic to Bard.
Maybe I’m wrong but I can’t think of any FF Bard that was about being a keen hunter trained in striking an enemy’s weak points with arrows. Magic, sure.

On-topic, if someone was so callous as to want to waste a groups time in a dungeon by slamming persistent emotes I’d assume they’d do so with or without Performance.
