So are they really going to put the new wards live when the servers go up?

I wouldn't hold my breath. If you want a house, try to get on exactly when the servers go up just in case.

If it is an hour delay, I hope they stay locked until then since people could just gather around placards if they are able to enter the wards.

Patch notes and housing plots website they have provided only said "temporarily unavailable". However, I remember hearing from the most recent Live Letter, that it will be about 1 hour until accessible.

That claim was regarded as a mistranslation when they uploaded the official translation to the forums

In previous patches with housing the maint notes explicitly stated the maint would not end early so everyone would be on the same playing field for getting new houses. We know housing is coming out today but there is no mention of the game being down for the full maint window. Its not conclusive evidence but it does help imply housing won't be open immediately.

Needless to say, anyone wanting a house will be spamming the log in at least an hour before the maint is scheduled to end.

They said on Twitter it would not end early.

I remember the last mad dash. Spent a couple days figuring out optimal routes to my plots of choice and then running practice sessions where I would practice speed logging into the game and then running the routes and timing myself trying to get faster. I got my plot last time this way, but omg I never want to go through that again. You all have my condolences in advance. I'll be looking forward to all the angry threads while I sip my coffee in the morning.

Apartments are the best thing that could have ever implemented as far as having personal housing is concerned for me. Never had to think about plots, or trying to be faster than Usain Bolt to get one, ever again.

Is it going to be as bad though, since only FCs can buy houses right now?

It won't be anywhere near as bad, but depending on servers it will still be a nightmare

People who also already own a house can buy plots to relocate. So if someone owns a small and wants to upgrade to a medium or large they can try their luck.
