This MSQ change makes nobody happy.

idk, i am probably going to start queueing for it once per week to help people out. I think if we are at the point as gamers where 30-45 min once per day or less frequently to help newbies out is this big, impossible burden, it's kind of a judgment on us, isn't it?

I don't complain.

I just stop doing it but don't bitch about it.

I did it many times as tank to help people trough it, but now I'm not going to do that any more.

I have full time job and have evening classes. I have around 3-4 hours of playtime on the average evening. I'm not going to waste an hour of that on the new MSQ.

There is already a thread about this with over 30 pages and its right at the top of the list as it is still highly active. Why make a second one for the exact same debate?

What is strange to me is that they added the cutscenes, but didn't make the ilvl sync at i50 - i60. The dungeons will still be zerged even with the cutscenes.

The thing about these two dungeons, is despite the flaw in their design, they are an amazing experience if allowed to run as intended. I don't blame the devs for trying to provide such an experience for their playerbase. But it's an experience that can only really be lived once, and after that, you're doing them for the quick tomes and exp. Doing them in a solo instance will not provide the same experience as sharing it with friends at the same point in the story. Doing them with your squadron will not provide that experience either. In short, both veteran and new player alike suffer from the design of these dungeons.

Though the design of these dungeons are flawed, I don't think the intent behind them is. I truly believe that the devs believed that the veterans would have no issues with helping new players through this point in the MSQ. I wasn't around for 1.0, but I think some of the things that caused it to fail are present in the design and intent behind the 8-man dungeons. This design worked for the early FFXI era when console players were introduced to MMORPGs, but several years later, speed became the way of things.

It's pretty clear to me that SE does not favor this, but conforms to it to a certain extent in order to keep the revenue coming. Trust me though, if it were entirely up to them, we wouldn't be obtaining anything quickly. I think this change is their bait being tossed to see who bites. Those who choose the long road will likely not give in, and not buy a potion to progress further. I see this change as an evaluation of us, the playerbase.

OP, you say that you are going to just click away though the CS dialogue to progress the fight quickly, and nothing will change. Are you really so certain that after an inevitably long queue, that you won't be facing the boss alone while everyone else is viewing the cut scenes?

And if it causes more issues down the line like many people are worried about? What then? I'm already not going to do it, but I also think that as a subscriber I have just as much right to voice my opinion as those who see the change as a positive one. You don't get to silence other people just because they hold a different view on the matter.

Yes. I don't mind help players (i mean what the point of being a mentor if i wasn't?) but I know unless i'm being asked by friends i will never run MSQ roulette again cause i value my time, i don't want to sit down more than an actual run takes in cut scenes i seen 1000053253252 times before.

Because people who haven't been to the forums in a little while may not have seen it, or did and don't want to go through multiple pages of really what is 2-4 posters bickering amongst themselves because they don't see eye to eye. It is not mandatory for you to read or reply within a thread you feel addresses the same topic of another unless you're a mod, and I don't see them complaining or shutting down said threads.
