Dont care what destiny is doing..this isn't about destiny. I'm only talking about FFXIV. Similarities aside.

The way it works in Destiny 2, is after you reach max level you still gain EXP, and each "level" you gain gives you one of the loot boxes from Eververse.
Things that are contained in those boxes are cosmetic items only(emotes, shaders, ships, speeders, exotic weapon GLAMOUR - no weapons in actuality, as you can't use the glamour without having the actual weapon first).
Edit: This is from me playing it before the Osiris expansion came out - haven't logged into in for a few months, so it can be outdated information
I really don't think destiny 2's the game you want to look to for ideas. They got so much backlash form their own community these last few months over the way they've handled pretty much everything. Adding cashshop items into the game to earn for free is the least they could do.
Destiny 2 we can all agree is completely the wrong way to do it. As long as SE doesn't go outside of what they are doing with mogstation now it should be fine. when you start going down the pay to win route then I think everyone will have an issue, which SE doesn't really need to do since FFXIV is on a pay to play model not free to play (which is a good reason for SE not to go for the free to play model)
They were in the boxes, thats how I got my warlock and titan set. I didn't spend dust on them.
I maxed out at 305 before I quit on 2 characters with lots of bright engrams.
The item to dust ratio sucked.
And no they shouldnt. I get the OP direction, but these are two different games. And destiny is NOT a role model for the game model of micros....
With Mogstation at least you get what you want to spend the money on while in Destiny 2, you pay for a % chance of obtaining an item you want, and pretty much everything was behind the Eververse hence the massive RemoveEverVerse spamfest/boycott on the D2 official forums.
Atm they pretty much HAVE to put the lootbox rewards ingame obtainable as people are fleeing the game atm and Bungie has taken a playertrust almost as bad as XIV1.0 made SE loose the trust of their FF fanbase.
