Uh. I hardly, if ever, use Blizzara on moogle. My MP is almost always spent on thunder combos for quick burst damage. In at least one fight (that, admitedly, had several screw ups), I've actually outparsed some of our archers.

Thaumaturge is there (or at least, in my case that's how it goes) for the very high burst damage that can decimate a moogle in seconds, specially during the first half. In fact, having a thaumaturge in the group helps a lot to kill all the moogles in time for memento moogle. While I don't have any parser results on Ifrit, I can also say that even with all the waiting for MP, I sometimes have to stop casting due to HATE, not MP.

Want a good tip? Try to keep Stone effect up before casting your combos, avoid using Thundaga without Parsimony. You will deal good damage and will be able to keep 1000-1500ish MP for use in a pinch.

Just because we don't "outparse" archers doesn't mean THM damage isn't useful. Granted, better MP management wouldn't hurt, but it's not as bad as it seems.

XI also had different tier spells. You could keep consistent DOT with lower tier spells like Blizzard2 etc.. while I appreciate the simplicity in the spell system in XIV, it takes the level of control out.

in no way do i personally mind. I find THM fun as hell, and part of my enjoyment of the class is managing MP

Heres the thing, say SE releases AM again, one AM does 4k damage depending on weaknesses (higher than DDs) lets say its on a 10 second recast and a 5 second cast thats 4k damage every 15 seconds, then you bring into the equation that THM/BLM will likely get Fire, Ice and Thunder based AM if they did this, so the can use say Freeze on a mob thats weak against ice for 4k damage, the Flare on it for say 2k and Blitz (thunder based, cant remember the old name) for 3k, that is 9k damage in 15s and the first spell is ready for use.

This brings huge spams into the equation of constantly spamming these spells with no conciquence excpet hate, which the THM/BLM will blame on the tank, with this THM will hugely out parse DDs all the time.

What you seem to forget is yes now DDs out parse THM but there are alot of changes to come and SE are focusing on 2.0 and the relaunch if you dont like playing a game that is always changing wait till 2.0.

And unlimited MP is not an exagertation, if they add your proposed fixes people will still complain they run out of MP until it becomes unlimited, FFXI now has unlimited MP and there is no skill involved you just spam your highest damage spells, I have seen unlimited MP before and I hate it.

@ApplePie All SCH got for MP was Sublimation and Parsimony, Sublimation was useless solo because of how much damage can be done, you get one bad hit and hardly any MP back, so if you were solo Parsimony was the only option, in a party or event nuking you have 5 stratagems, on dark arts you can use them all before stratagems recast it up soley on parsimonys and you still run out of MP nuking hard.

And as I said above for now THM does less damage than melee however come 2.0 and possible new spells that could all change and if they add the unlimited MP this thread will likely come and if high damage spells are reintroduced it will wreak any balance.

Mages should require skill to play and if this thread goes too far they will not, just end up with us having unlimited MP spamming high damage spells, complaining that all tanks suck because they cant keep hate off us, because everyone has THM/BLM lvled because there easy to play (cept the hate problems).

Finally BLM will probably have alot more INT, MP and MATT than THM if you know different when nothing has been said then please enlighten me, Jobs are focused on party based content so they should have stats to allow combos because they are focused on party based tactics.

Combines with cure would be suffencient on its own in my opinion

But then there will also be this

BRD Abl. 1 Increases the maximum HP and certain magic effects of all party members within range, which will raise your HP for mor MP when BLM 1. arrives. Also raising certain magic damage types, thus raising your DPS as a whole and giving the MP you do have, more value.

Then there will be this

BRD Mag. 1 Gradually restores the MP of all party members within range

That should solve the rest of the issue.

What I don't understand is why you care.

Having a "Stance" that lowers your emnity, damage, and MP used would be nice. I find my issue with THM "from what I've played in Ifrit fight"

I pull far too much hate too quickly and need to rely on cross class abillities (Many I don't have lol) to keep my hate down. Althogh I rarely have MP issues with Ifrit I would expect if your nerfing you damage you nerf your actual spell cost (Maybe not a exact damage/spell cost ratio)

I also agree that THM lack a (O-shi) button abillity with a long cooldown but extremly usefull during instanced fights, these issues may be downright solved with Jobs though.

I find during Solo play my Thaumaturg is extremly overpowering to everything I come across, and that's what the classes are going to be for isn't it? For low-maning stuff where you can be more "Flexible" with cross class actions?
