I only did all that awful math to point out that there is still no "gearing up too fast" if they raised that 450 weekly limit to 900. I'd like to be able to get a chest piece in one week instead of two. And on top of that, there are other options for gear as was already pointed out. Honestly I've always been of the opinion that there should be absolutely no weekly gating.
If people want to farm a new raid straight for 48 hours and get every single piece of loot possible in the first week of an update, let them. We're not all going to do the same. -

This assumption you need better gear to raid really ought to die. Currently, I have cleared everything up to Ex-Death Savage wearing a hodgepodge of Verity and Omega normal gear. Body, legs, head and an assortment of accessories? All 310. Our Bard had no issues doing the same, albeit she upgraded before our V3S clear. Between the aforementioned Verity, crafted, Omega, Creation and Savage gear, you have more than enough options to effectively gear every single job. You'll have some ugly FFlog parses, but the devs don't really care about that. What if you don't raid? Stop worrying about it then. There is nothing in the entire game that requires anything above ilvl 290 outside Savage. Not even Susano EX. If you aren't a raider, it just isn't an issue. Now you may want better gear but that's different than claiming it's a problem.

you can play all classes, in every single event available to you. Find what you like in 310/320 gear, then gear THAT up. Another tier of gear isn't going to fundamentally change how a job plays. -

Also another reason is that you can cap 450 with 5 daily experts, in case a player ends up without much time to play for a week. This is likely done intentionally, so those players don't feel pressed to farm the double amount of times every week. -

Verity was our uncapped tomestone and within a month you'd be hard pressed to find many people who didn't have their performed jobs fully geared. Now imagine if Verity gear was intended to last five months. I can say for certain Omega normal would be dead content by week four. I'm not going to spam roulettes three months from now if I can get all my tomestone gear whenever I feel like it. In fact, when 4.1 rolls around, I'll do the new dungeon a couple times and never look at it again in a scenario where tomestones are uncapped. Why? Well, what reason do I have to keep running it? The only reason I even look at Leveling Roulette is because of cracked clusers, tomestones and the EXP it offers.Quote:
