If there's an FFXIV version of Atelloune's Wildlife Files on the lodestone in the future I will fly over to Japan and give the FFXIV crew a round of high-fives and after they get off work, a round of beers.

No one says this, so you can stop with the strawman bs. Many of us just don't want this game to devolve into XI.

I, for one, wouldn't mind it devolving into a better game.

I don't see anything wrong with this game copying concepts from XI. If something from XI could be implemented to make the game better, and modified doing so if originality to XIV is so important, why not?
