Just because it's useful in Savage, doesn't mean it was designed specifically around it. Plenary Indulgence is meant to be used as a supplementary heal on top of your usual AoE healing.

Sorry, I'm sure there was actually a point you were making here, but all I can see is Balthier whiteboarding.

Agreed. I still dislike the terminology associated with Plenary Indulgence. White Mages and Conjurers are attuned with the forces of nature, their magic comes from that. This 'confession' nonsense sounds far more Ishgardian than Gridanian, and IMHO would have been far, far, more suited to AST.

All of that said, PI is essentially a MP free Medica 3, but with a potency that's almost random event (not RNG, but similar in effect) driven. While not strictly RNG, PI depends on the random occurrence of events as to whether or not you can build 3 'confessions'. I think the duration of the 'confessions' is too short to be practical outside very specific circumstances, and you almost have to either be in content that demands that you spam Medica, or you sacrifice single target heals in order to build your confessions. The duration should be lengthened to 20 seconds. 30 is too long IMHO, although I definitely would not be opposed to it. But 10 seconds is barely enough time using regular GCD skills to build the confessions needed without one falling off the end and resulting in a stack of 2 instead.

Oh, and I REALLY dislike the name of this mechanic, did I mention that? WHM are not freaking priests taking confessions. That would seem far more appropriate with a healer based in the culture of the Holy See in Ishgard...like Astrologian. Can we please redo this entire skill and lodge it much more into the lore of White Mage and call it something else? Please? Pretty Please? Pretty please with lilies on top?

Agreed. The job's name is White Mage, and he's a MAGE, not a priest.

That being said, Plenary Indulgence should be named like Medica III or Aethereal Recovery. And the buff should drop the name confession to adopt... Like... Aether Nodes. That could be like the White Mage is using the Aether to increase the healing power.

The same way Benediction should be named as Cure IV, Curaja, Full Cure, Renew...

If someone is at full HP, then they don't NEED any more healing. So them not getting any heal from Plenary Indulgence is irrelevant.

If the boss hits the party with strong AoE, you will use two or more Medica to even get the party to full HP. Medica and Medica II are comparatively weak (on a single target and in instant healing, not over time) in healing potency versus Cure tree of spells, so a heavy AoE will very much require multiple AoE casts to heal. That means multiple confessions well within the 10sec range, all of which will give confession. Instead of casting that additional Medica, just cast Plenary Indulgence. You'll save time and MP both.

Astrologians are fortune tellers, not priests. From a lore perspective, confessions make no sense to them either.

If you're going to whine about the lore implications, at least pay attention to said lore...
