Overheating should be capitalized, not ignored to make MCH fun

I love the idea of overheat idea as well but atm its not worth the effort. another cool thing would to be add a effect or your gun like its literally Overheating by being RED hot or letting out a lot of Steam/exhaust. I love mch I mean loved it enough to suffer thru HW with it but I kinda of wanna do Savage content this time around And you really can't do that as a mch right now. a good brd can shit on most other dps outside any sam with a brain.
flamethrower still needs a look at
overdrive got a nice bump only thing I hear it breaks just a bit over even now if you can get the turret back down fast.

Brd is currently one of the most wanted jobs to have which the only downtime that they ever had was last number of months Of HW where they weren't doing so hot for once.

There's also the overheating payoff in an effect different than pure numbers. People are forgetting special job interactions. A thing that non healer roles have in spades. MCH is just flat out boring in this regard.
On the top of our new UI
BRD: Pitch perfect
DRG: Nastrond
NIN: Hellfrog, Bhavacakra, Ten Chi Jin
SAM: Hissatsus
BLM: Foul
RDM: Enchanted melee (never you mind their proc based gameplan in general)
SMN: Bahamut
MNK: The Forbidden Chakra
DRK: Blood Spiller, Quietus, (and Delirium to a lesser extent)
WAR: Steel Cyclone, Upheaval, Onslaught, Fell Cleave, Decimate

And then on the complete friggin opposite side of this spectrum
MCH: 30 potency increase for 3 attacks
Edit: I forgot to mention Cooldown. Thanks to the fantastic and stellar changes to heat generation (this is sarcasm) you will only ever use it once inside of a 10 minute fight if it has no resets. And twice in every wildfire.
And if you overheat?
MCH: Negligible DPS gain followed by a DPS lockout
And that's it. That's all we get. Sure our abilities change but they're the same abilities. Just slightly stronger. And that strength only exists to make up for the fact that we lost our dot.
So other jobs get unique abilities and we get nothing.

There's also the mentality of seeing big hits. I mean I can't be the only person with issue that turret overdrive will on average hit harder than your friggin wildfire. But on that topic:
What cool super damaging ability did MCH get from 60-70. I'd count overdrive but they had to BUFF that in 4.05 so it wasn't a dps LOSS to use. So I ask again

Even AST with no unique changes to the job get to have fun with friggin sleeve draw. Which is a blast to use because it gives you another flexible way to manipulate your RNG. This mentions nothing about how minor arcana is to use and how cool as heck earthly star is.

You would think that given that we don't get a big reward they would at least add special interactions between overHEAT and wildFIRE so that our gauge has a higher payoff than just friggin existing.

We do have an effect. You probably missed it. We ourselves glow orange. I guess when our gun is overheating we're actually the ones on fire? I made lots of jokes about this before. (and I hope people get the humor I sprinkled into this post)

ah well i be dam we do have glow orange when we overheat but its so dam faint I can barely see it then again I have mch relic so that effect is kind of big

You should use flamethrower with the replica and not the lux. The colors of the coeurl look the same as the fires coming out which makes it look twice as cool.

Increase Wildfire to 30% and increase overheat to 20% and I'd be happy.

Overheat is a pretty underwhelming mechanic compared to the other classes, now that I think about it.

I think if they changed Cooldown to be off-GCD and gave it a new effect where it gains a huge amount of potency during Overheat but ends the status immediately MCH would be more satisfying to play.

Actually there was several posts from Ast to say they were disappointed how easy they job becomes by being able to get new cards even more often than before.
Less RNG = less decision to take = handholding skill for an easier job.
It makes me think a bit to what Mch tend to say as their heat gets too easy too manage x)

To begin with. Are you talking about the thread saying that the potential of back to back buffs were too high? Because they gave really accurate reasons why that is true. Or are you talking about the thread talking about how being able to undraw spread and royal road is bad? I don't agree with that but I understand and can accept the logic.

I'll have you know that I have an AST at 70.
Edit: Though I will admit that sleeve draw is a bit much...
Anyways that's off topic anyways. Card drawing is one part of the whole that makes AST


Heat management WAS the entire part of a MCH gameplan.
30%(card drawing) =/= 100% (heat management)
It's not exactly equivalent, right?


That point being:
Other jobs gained cooler abilities from 60-70 that changed how they played or interacted with their new job bar. While MCH gained nothing interesting in return. Or rather heat was interesting. Now it's braindead and arbitrary. You'd have to be trying to overheat now with how little you can care about it.

I ment better AOE DPS then before, but still poor. I would have rather they not put the heat gauge in and just made the heated shots a stance with the cosy of your mobility wile useing skills atleast then I wouldnt be having to constantly keep tabs on yet another thing during battle. I cant see how the heat guage Fits in withe the support, utility and DPS that we have atm.

If you think about the overheating mechanic less as a buff and more as a penalty, it's actually kinda neat in comparison to other dps (like dropping botd) because overheating gives a unique opportunity to do more dps when used very specifically. I really didn't like how overheating wildfires worked in 4.0. It was awkward to plan out perfectly, and using flamethrower to push into overheat was annoying (especially if you got targeted with a mechanic right after and had to move). MCH plays a lot more smoothly now with the changes (imo) and not having to bother with overheating wildfires on top of the insane amount of mechanics in Omega.
