Thanks!
Seems i started playing (Saturday) and based most of my research on stuff that would change so very quickly sooner after, i knew there was a patch coming and i should have read the notes, but i saw them soon after i logged in for the first time and didn't understand the first few lines so i gave up reading!
I would have liked to have tried it the old way, think it would have helped me a little, but as was said above i just need to play the class a bit better and make way more use of Sleep!
Trying BLM now, but not sure if i will stick with it, unless i can get the Cast Times down somewhat, very annoying waiting 3.5 seconds for fire 3 :P

Fire3 is in no way your main damage cast for BLM.
Fire3/Ice3 are transition skills to bring you to the max stacks of astralfire/umbralice.
Not to forget that the third stack of astralfire/umbralice lowers the casttime of the next spell of the opposing element to 1/3.

Yeah, i learnt pretty fast after this forum that Fire3 isn't a main spam :)
One last question about boosts, i was looking and seems most jobs you can boost, even new ones like Dark Knight etc, but i don't see one for Red Mage, am i missing something?
Ta!

Dark Knight Astrologian and Machinist are all 2 years old at this point, so most people dont consider them new. The new classes are Red Mage and Samurai. When they announced the jump(boost) potions they specified that for awhile they would be restricted. You wouldnt be able to jump multiple jobs, and you wouldnt be able to jump the new jobs. Around patch 4.1 they were going to re-assess and see if they still needed the restrictions. So for now, you gotta level up Red Mage(or samurai) the hard way.

Ah, ok, my mistake then! It does make perfect sense.
If my Character here ever updates you will see that i switched to Red Mage and currently im 57, loving the levelling and play style, so much more than my Black Mage Sadly. I did use a boost for an Archer/Bard as i do like those as well (well im a Hunter Wow person...) so even if i could do Red Mage i wouldn't be able to nor want to ;)
