It's time for a FFXIV Anime!!!

The game needs to work on other things then an anime that may not even do that well.

Just going to toss out my agreement with the several others who have said the same. It would be interesting to see an anime adaptation of the game, but it would have to be a series of arcs involving the game's side lore (Hildebrand, Edda, the beast tribes, etc). Anything having to do with the main lore would require the presence of the Warrior of Light, which would inevitably be the derplander and thus kill the adaptation for a major portion of the playerbase that would actually have cared about the adaptation in the first place (we would want to see our own characters, not the derplander).

Something that focuses on the NPCs and not necessarily the Warrior of Light would be fab, such as an OVA series based on Tales of the Calamity or Tales from the Dragonsong War, for example. Expand the current lore and leave the Warrior of Light's story to the game itself.

Could entice new players that way as well, as an adaptation of the game's MSQ just seems like a bit of a cop out in an anime.

As long as it can stand out from the masses of (fantasy) animes, and use the franchise well (well done story/characters on SB niveau.., or making fell cleaves in berserk mode look epic.. or mnks on GL3 move ultra fast and cool etc.), it could be become something epic.

If it becomes trash, than ofc would rather not have a FFXIV Anime at all..., not even it its very plain.

But a good writer and director could maybe make it close to like "Kanaberi the iron fortresse" niveau, that would be way epic enough for FFXIV.

On the last part there, I was kind of dreaming :D

FF anime has been pretty bad, desu.
The FF7 OVA was all kinds of weird.

Would be cool if they did happen to make a FFXIV anime it didn't take itself seriously and was self aware.

There is a nice looking manga about a se employee who dies and reincarnates in ffxiv coming soon. Maybe the op will get his wish.

FFXIV already has anime writing and anime-style cutscenes. Why do we need a cartoon about what we have already seen?

I've wanted a Hildebrand Anime for ages now. Would that count as a ff14 anime or more of a spin off?

I'm going to say no. But if it ever happened, my only request is that they stick to derplander being the WoL.
