I feel the RDM mechanic more fun than other DD jobs. I started using SAM but finally i chose RDM because i enjoy more using it :P
I don't even have the job unlocked and I already love it, from just a single dungeon run paired with one. I was in awe of how quickly we burned trash down. I cannot wait to see how well they fit into the raids I have unlocked.
I am actually loving the job, not a number cruncher though but for massive AOEs that seem to take time (might just be our gear tho at this stage in the game) I do...
Scatter till 90/90 (if I am close at start) > Enchancted Moulinet > (60/60) Manafication back to 100/100 > 3x Enchancted Moulinet.
So, if anyone has a suggestion on if that should be fixed or if it works. Never really seem to be without manafication when needed :S
As for the actual combo of the class, I feel its in a good position, I admit Impact kinda threw me off on where to place it after getting used to 1-3/Shift 1-3 for white or black.
I personally though the job feels/plays exactly like a RDM not only in the purest sense "but they sizx level 1 spells! thats all redmage had anyway) but it is very fun the verflare/holy is a super bonus to me, thats going beyond. For a dps to offer the level of potential support a RDNMdoes. I couldnt ask for more. They even gave the en fanboys their en-hanced sword skills that deal more damage when mana levels are right. I enjoy this job and probably will main it, to the OP Im sorry you thought RDM was going to be a sword fighter with some magic. That jobs been around since 2.4 the rest of us call it Ninja.
I can agree with this statement. Whether or not something can be considered boring is highly subjective, but for what it's worth, I'm with the crowd that thinks Red Mage is a lot of fun to play. However, my biggest criticism is that Red Mage feels too simple. If I were to use Samurai as a point of comparison, Red Mage feels like Samurai without the Kenki gauge. For Samurai, it's the management of Kenki that gives the job a whole new layer of depth. That's something Red Mage lacks. Another way to look at it would be to say Red Mage has a low skill floor, but also a low skill ceiling. SE has stated their intent to shorten the gap between those two extremes, but I still find myself wishing Red Mage could be pushed further.
I wonder how many of you are in love with big dmg on both aoe and single target rather than with class play style. I will definitely lvl up RDM after my main just to try it at 70.
I hope one day you people emphasizing mage on red mage as if that signifies its suppose to be 90% mage.
Why weren't you complaining about BRD in heavensward being 90% ranged and 10% songs. It should be the other way around right? I mean... it's BARD. Just please stop using that as a auto win cuz it's not, it's more grey than that
