I want sprint back as well. Especially considering how much they nerfed the CCs we need something that will help us close the gap, either landing a kill or escaping.
I agree with Koltik's point.
In addition to that, I see sprint as an ability to fix positioning mistakes. I don't have sprint on any of my profiles and here is why:
Not having sprint forces you to actually think tactically about your positioning. If you have to use sprint to secure a kill, or to get away from a group of enemies, you're relying on that ability too much. Sprint isn't going to save you from a RDPS who out-positions you or a tank who stuns when you're about run away—doesn't really help against good healer juke either. Even MDPS who are, in my opinion, hardest to position well without sprint, don't need it. SAM, NIN, and DRG all have ways to retreat and/or gap close without it. MNK being the only one with no true means of retreat out of a pile of enemies.
Calling sprint a necessity is silly and making it a native ability would be pointless.. Previous point aside, if everyone had sprint, I'd just save mine to counter the opponent's. So why have it at all?
In addition, I believe making sprint native would be counterintuitive for SE considering their reasoning behind the PvP changes was ability bloat and balancing.
TLDR: Sprint has a 45s CD. Positioning doesn't.
Not opposing to your points, but those are more relevant to 4v4 feast. Use bolt in frontline and something else in feast; I guess that would work (speaking generally, not to you specifically). But in my case, one who doesn't care about 4v4 feast (much), I find not having sprint highly annoying. Especially if my enemy has it while I don't. I would rather see it removed completely or innate to everyone.
should add weapon throw back, put it on a 90 second cooldown but make it so it only removes sprint and doesn't heavy
This is sounding more and more like people are just trying to restore the 3.0 PVP...
If you want to sprint, just take sprint and give up something else. If everyone has it, what's the point of even bringing it back?
They could divided it, frontlines gets PvE sprint (plus option for PvP sprint as well), feast does not (only PvP sprint). Think that is the main issue. Frontlines is this huge map, lots of players, with you wanting to get to locations as fast as possible... but then they decreased movement...
