DEV REQUEST: please let us toggle FATE music

This too. More unique music would be much welcomed.

While we're on the topic of music, I'd like more mounts to have unique music, particularly the beast tribe mounts. I'd love it if the dire wolf played Flightless Wings and the cavalry drake played Pitfire, for example.

I've been thinking about more mount music too. I've got 29/48 mounts that play one of those "default" music themes. That means when I hit the mount roulette, chances are good that I'm gonna get something with the "default" music. Even the chocobo song is becoming something of a rarity with the roulette.

Some songs just make sense for certain mounts. The beastman tribe quest mounts should play the music of their respective tribe. Event mounts should play the music from their respective event. Fenrir and Archon Throne should play the music from Snowcloak/Gubal respectively. PvP achievement mounts should play PvP music. Twintania mount should play the music from Coil T5 and the A4S and A12S mount rewards should play the music from their respective fights. I'm sure there are some other examples I'm just not thinking of, but yeah, more variety done sensibly is something I think a lot of us would be all for

I would like to toggle ALL contextual music. Even though I like the boss theme, hearing the dungeon music continuously would make it feel more of its own place rather then "well here's the latest expert."

I find the notification of a FATE far more disruptive than the music itself. It's a big reason why I don't even have my mount music on since I know I can't travel more than 30 malms without that atrocious notification sound ruining the mood. I also remember being disappointed that HW boss FATEs had the same music as the ARR ones. I think they literally updated all themes, except those ones.

I am also in favor of a toggle option.

You would think with the entire franchise worth of music, particularly battle music, they would use that randomized to liven up the fate music or combat music. They do a very good job pushing nostalgia of the franchise, but nothing pushes those memory triggers like music.

i still think "hard to miss" is one of the best songs of FFXIV :/ , but yeah make it optional and evey1 is happy :D

Don't get me wrong, I love it too and I know if I were to hear it years after no longer being a part of FFXIV, the nostalgic tears will flood my face. But right now it is nails on chalkboard.

If I walked into a FATE I would normally pass up and it started playing From fear to fortitude, I would participate without even thinking about it.

That FATE notification sound is also background music though. Toggle off ALL BGM and that gets turned off too. I'd think it goes without saying that the request to toggle off FATE music includes the notification sound.

It's not that I consider it bad music, it's just something I don't want to hear if I'm not looking to kill FATEs. Some people don't want it at all, me, I'd toggle it off for normal adventuring and back on if I'm in a FATE grind for whatever reason.

One Of the Reasons I'm hoping for new Main Battle & Fate Music right here.. 4 years of the same melody is just too long lol
