Will physick be changed to match vercure?

I think they are good as they are. I don't use Physick on my SMN unless I am trying to pick up for a healer being down and trying to keep the tank alive as long as possible. As with everyone though the sustain being removed is curious. Admittedly, I do not really use Sustain that much and throw away my pets because I attribute it to not positioning my egi as best as I can.

I would say to leave it alone from what we know. I wouldn't want any more expectation of healing on my SMN, as for RDM the healing is meant to be one off situations as best as I understand it.

In before BLM take the WHM spot as Healer.

I think drain is intended to fill the caster dps self heal niche. I do see the issue with SMN healing their pet now though.

dual cast is nothing more than swift cast.
it still takes up a GCD.

so it takes 2 GCDs to land 2 Vercures.
it takes up 2 GCDs to land 2 Physicks.

also, I disagree, SMN isnt known for their heals.

For the purpose of emergency healing, Dualcast is actually worth noting. While it is correct that two GCDs would be used in either case, the Red Mage would essentially drop a 700 potency cure in the span of 2.5-3 seconds whereas a Summoner would have only been able to heal for 400 potency in that same span of time. Between the two, Red Mage will have greater life saving potential.

Smn isn't known for healing? Ff rydia and half the summoners would like a word with you. Not even counting ff 11 summoner healing with split white and carbuncle.

I wish, but probably not happening. Both jobs shouldn't be healing anyways. Still if it was INT based like vercure the fact sustain was removed wouldn't be so bad.

Not if they used swift cast. (A better version is dual cast vercure, with a swift cast vercure, leading to 3 cures)
Chances are, in any content that requires a dual cast vercure to save them, the DPS check would be high enough to fail for wasting time/MP on curing. (Though some content is right in the middle, a Physick, and swift cast Physick would accomplish the same level of saving.)

Rydia was 2 jobs. Her actual Summon spells, only had Asura give a 33% chance to heal, 33% chance to party rez, and i forget the other.
Again, the SMN part of her isnt known for healing (most people are surprised I used her for Asura more than I relied on my WHM for healing)
nor is her BLM side.

As for SMNs in general, in FF3 they arent used for their heals, same with FF5.
FFT they had a decent AoE heal, and it wouldnt heal enemies. (But it was on the weak side, and most SMNs, even the enemies, relied on offensive summoning, even if near death.)
FF6 didnt have SMNs, but it had a summon for just about every action. So I dont count these as other than flavor of magicite.
FF7 same as above.
FF8 same as above.
FF9 + FF10, the Summons werent used for heals at all. But they were also WHMs, who used WHM magic to heal, not summons. (Mainly because its pointless to make SMNs use BLM spells like Rydia, comes off as redundant.) Plus if their WHM spells make SMN known for healing, that also makes WHM known for summoning.
FF11 SMNs werent "too" useful in sustain DPS, and more groups required Healers than DDs. So they took up /WHM to heal. They had no natural heal that I recall.
(And if /WHM counts as a being known for their heals, then all jobs are known for their heals.)
FF12+13, I never used em, and forget them.
FF15 never touched the game.

FFT is pretty much the only time SMNs had a decent heal.
again, I wouldnt say they are "known" for their "heals". (Which they usually didnt have, they ended up cross classing WHM instead)

EDIT: in job changing FFs, they usually take away some of the jack of all trades feel of the jobs, to make them more distinctive, such as giving Regen/Haste to Time Mage, rather than WHM. But in non job changing FFs, usually WHM has the Regen/Haste.
I would classify an MMO as being quite similar, with the exception of having enough abilities to function somewhat in minor solo content.

People (mainly SMNs) are discussing and arguing about physick being low for them because RDM will be able to give an emergency help to the healer even being a DPS, otherwise nobody would talk about Physick in a DPS. I say that for experience. I played as SMN and in many, many parties I had SMNs and BLMs and they never used Physick, and I only used when healer was down in low-level DGs, because it's not really helpful. And for the RDM it makes a lot of sense to have more potency than the others DPS's because RDM is a mix of BLM and WHM, and it will give a uniqueness to the job, like people said, though it still be a DPS not a healer, so it's only for emergencies, and as far as I've seen, only if the healer is new to a DG/Raid, or is really bad, that emergency will be needed.

It should heal for nowhere near as much, but removing Sustain is incredibly silly.
