How do I start progressing my crafts past 50 without much gil/leves?

ATM BSM 50 is a must if you want to level using the fastest and cheapest way available as soon you hit 55. Anyway, be sure to level to 51 first grinding with manuals, then gather all necessary materials/Crystals (craft any necessary part yourself) for a full LvL 51 set and ask a trader mentor for help to HQ the final product.

At 55, with LvL 55 HQ gear, use custom deliveries components (they won't show in your menu till 60 but you can search for those items) and grind like a champ. Rested+FC Bonus+Manuals it's a lot of XP (can't remember the exact numbers but was like from 20k to 50k per craft based on how much quality I managed).

Yes the verdict is out on how crafting will change; we know the changes wont be HUGEE; but they may be different enough to where ing2 isn't mandatory ...again if you're not trying to make HQ 1-4 star to sell in this short window b4 Storm; ing2 won't be a huge advantage over ing1.

For the method I mention is a must, you will be crafting recipes two levels higher than you. I mean if you want to max exp vs gil/crystals.

Since op stated that he wants to participate in the economy he will need to be able to hq star items sooner or later so there is no reason not to do it now, speaking of which you should be leveling at least bot and min as well. Stick with the script gear since the crafted gear will be obsolete with the new lvl cap there is no need to waste gil on melds

Fair warning about Ixal quests. Some of them require that you have DoL leveled as well. If you don't you'll have to skip them, and I believe those typically give really good exp rewards, oak knots, and materia. You'll always have the option to repeat the ones that don't require DoL classes.

I didn't even use leves getting from 50-60 and didn't start doing moogle quests until lv56, but I also took the long road. All the crafting that was involved with upgrading gear (crafting mats as well as finished goods), obtaining Supra/Lucis tools, GC turn-ins, and burning up as many allowances as possible on Ixal quests gave me the exp I needed. During long crafting sessions, I would also stack exp bonus items (food, FC bonuses, squadron engineering manuals, etc.) I'm pretty sure when all of them were stacked I was getting 550%

Once getting to 56 collectibles basically replace leves without the allowance constriction. Between those and moogle quests, you shouldn't have much trouble getting your crafters to 60.

You are right that some of the Ixali quests require you to gather some materials in the field before crafting something, but they dont really have a level requirement. All you ever have to be is level 1 in the appropriate class. Of course, harvesting some wood from the ixali logging grounds area(to use one example) is certainly safer at a higher level, but if youre really careful it can be done at the minimum.

Yep they are lvl one and skills to increase yield, etc. do not work on them @.@ so you don't need fancy gear or anything, just llvl 1 tool is fine.

Good points! However, I was also thinking along the lines that those BT quests place you in Coerthas, and there might be FATEs or mobs in the vicinity that are aggressive, and no stealth in the early levels. Even if so, they are still very doable. I just wanted to put the warning out there. :)

Oh yeah! No Stealth at Coerthas can be deadly. But if you start off with Botanist/Miner level 1 on Ixali, I think by the time the Ixali quests send you to Coerthas, you will probably have level 6 or 7... possibly level 8+, which will have Stealth :)

Anyway, low level gathering is sooooo easy to level-up that someone should have no problem getting level 3 or 4 on the same day when he/she picks up the class... Together with GC delivery mission turn-in's, it should be cake to reach level 10 anyway :P

You have to be careful with Stealth, though. Remember that it ranks up so there are limits to what each rank will hide you from.
