Most people use elves because it's the convention used by Tolkien, which set the standard for elven fantasy.

Uh, back to the original topic, if you feel that the head sizes are too small they could make them larger or they could scale back the torso a bit if it's overly large. D: T make it more proportional if that's the problem people are seeing.
I don't think their heads are small.
At least not from down here..oh wait, are they really THAT small? I thought it was just looking that way because of my lower point of view..:p
Ok, seriously, comparison shot. Check this out!

Male elezen are just as bad.
It is the one thing I never got, for example in XI the Elvaan's were proportioned weirdly (long necks/arms) but the heads were fine for their bodies, in XIV ... they're kind of off lol given the graphical route they took.
I am okay with the head size, what annoys me at times is the way some gear graphics doesn't mesh with the elongated ears in alot of situations.
I'm going to take this dog, and call it a rabbit.....
Just cause you call it a rabbit it doesn't change the fact that EVERYONE else always will and always has conventionally referred to it as a dog. And then the people who get finicky and complain you called the <Ahem> "Rabbit" a Dog should probably just go kill themselves because they are annoying.
To the point: Yes the heads are too small. Main reason I picked a Hyur instead.
