I enjoy the Diadem changes actually. More exciting than the old version, sadly I am already running into parties where people afk until a boss FATE spawns.

I had a lot of fun in there, but it's not something I would do very often because the loot isn't very rewarding and it is extremely repetitive. The Spoils Collector only received a few changes for sky pirate gear and a few minions. I had been seriously hoping they would have considered adding more airship exclusives to the spoil trader to make it be more obtainable, but meh... The Emergency mission was a lot of fun as well, but the real prize from it, The Coven weapon, only goes to one person out of all the groups participating, there's no rolling or way to pick what you want, and ofc, the stats are rng...so all it did was mess up fflogs on the offchance someone actually gets something good from it.
Minions are cute, but I already have 2/3 so...yea.
^this as well. I think my biggest complaint is that I can't vote kick people at all, I either have to suck it up and deal with it or hope they leave which can be extremely unpleasant when dealing with a toxic player.
I do enjoy the lockbox system a lot. The RNG is always great and makes it more exciting, much like PotD, but i didn't except to only be getting 1 or 2 peices of gear per run...
I also enjoy the forced objectives, it keeps the party from running all over the place at the start and getting nothing done. It is an over all improvement to the system aside from the lack of gear drops.
I'm mostly disappointed that the lockboxes only seem to drop spoils, I was hoping to use this to gear up my alt-jobs but I don't think that'll be happening. Back to grinding tomes... again...
Overall.. I like the changes. A lot.
Edit: I also don't see the weapon drop as an issue. The chances of getting a 280 weapon WITH good stats, so tiny. I haven't even run into any groups that can even complete the emergency mission let alone get it to pop.
Uh. I did a gathering run with an FC mate and we cleared the mission objectives to completion in under 25 minutes .... by simply running around the map gathering stuff.
General new diadem impression: I like it. Not a fan of the FATE system they settled on, but it works, after a fashion. Not sure if balancing it for multiple full parties will end up working (I'm looking at the general attitude people bring into 24 man raids and that already concerns me) but time will tell.
Rewards wise - I despise the stupid RNG lockbox system copied from PotD. Please, just exchange boxes for metacurrency and put up a list of exclusive/useful stuff.
It took them the best part of a year to gather all the negative feedback about 1.0 Diadem, in order to "revamp" it by adding the one piece of content that everyone in the community absolutely hates (FATEs) and add a buggy fight that doesn't even pop every run. Then decide to completely invalidate both relics and raid weapons?
Yeah no. New Diadem is complete trash.
wait, you can queue up for gathering by itself now, right?
I hate to say it, but it still feels like a mindless zerg-fest.
I have no idea whats going on half the time after the objective is complete. Dunno how to even get gear or the weapon aside from lockbox stuff.
The whole Emergency Mission was incredibly Vague, and if you mess it up, the monsters will just start one-shotting you, and you cant recover.
Stuck at work, so haven't tried it yet, but hate seeing all the hate already. Was looking forward to this. Oh well!
I had more fun with it than PoTD, but then again I completely hate PoTD. Not something I see myself doing regularly, but when I'm on I mostly just do maps, WT and other misc things with my FC, so it all really depends on if they want to do the new Diadem or not.
For those having problems with lowman fates search for the fates with lv 60 mobs as they are easily killed solo (about 2 fire IVs)
