Yeah it's amazing how fast increasing the sub fee makes their insurmountable technical problems go away. Almost like they're just lying to us and assuming we're too stupid to notice.
"We can't add new retainers, the servers would explode, too much data being handled, etc etc, but if you pay me $2 a month per retainer we might be able to do something about it."
"But SE, people are able to gain millions of gil from those 6 extra ventures per hour and more from having a bigger limit of items listings in the marketboard, isn't that the same as RMT?"
*crickets*
I'm against RMT, but please don't just quote what you like to read instead of the whole statement. The only reason RMT is illegal in every game (or anything really) is because someone is making profit from their product. Pretty much just like pirating movies. It does make a distinction when SE is making money from its own product like selling in-game 'merchandise', they're not profiting from enyone elses work and you can't compare it like you did. Morally incorrect? up to one's opinion, but it's not the same.
And I said technically, because technically and literally RMT stands for Real Money Trading, which is the act involving you giving real money cash to someone, while in online communities it stands for selling virtual items obtained in a product you don't own for real life cash.
I would love to ask this at the next Live Letter. I would love to know why doze couldn't work but this suddenly can, and why doze hasn't been implemented in the same way as play dead.
I have respect for SE, but between this and the Proto Ultima mess, it makes me feel like a can't trust their word a whole lot anymore
