And if they didn't explicitly lock the materia slots from having any effect outside PVP too. Clearing out some of the conflicting rules would be lovely. It's decent filler/starter gear in PVE but the fact that the materia slots are locked out sort of spoils that and just makes it all the more confusing.

They're good for vendor trash, at least, if you wanted to quickly convert wolf marks to gil. Some of the accs offer a better conversion rate but are more cumbersome since they cant be stacked. Ofc desynth is a far, far, more lucrative use of wolf marks. Could also be used to increase desynth chance on meldable gear (goes up by 5% per materia melded) or spiritbond rate. Grasping at straws here tho x_x yea they should be removed since their primary purpose for existing in the game seems to be to confuse people

Man, it feels even worse to be a PvPer currently. . . Second rate gear, useless materia slots, useless materia. . . I like this game but I'm starting to question why I still sub?

I find more annoying there's a big section of PvP gear in the crafting log which is entirely useless. Item level 55? Are you kidding me? And culinarian section has these colored drop food items which are supposed to add 3% resistance to status effects (wow, overpowered!), but you can't eat anything in The Feast... PvP in this game is such a mess.
