EU servers should have been in europe from the start (people were leaving over the lags) and we know nothing about the upcoming inventory increase (plus they are already charging you an extra fee for extra inventory space).

Maybe that's because SE noticed a lot of people were bailing out FFXIV due to the low quality of the expansion's content ?

If you want people to play your game the game must be up to the standards of the industry. No offense but aside the primal battles, FFXIV has been laking since HW.

EU servers weren't in Europe because SE did not acquire or install any EU servers, and used what they had, business tactics and all that wonderful stuff you clearly don't know about. And how are they charging me an extra fee for the inventory increase? They are charging a fee for people who opt into having extra retainers. Regarding the inventory increase, we know that we are getting an expanded inventory as well as an expanded armoury chest, and that it is a result of all the cash shop money they have been getting. Same situation happened with the EU servers, on top of that, as Bourne_Endeavor has mentioned, 3x the budget for Stormblood too. SE makes some really good jokes.

What you re aren't taking into consideration is that players were bailing out FFXIV due to all those issues. :) See my former post for more details. I know the white knighting is strong in those forums (because you can't post if you didn't log into the game for 15 days) but I can assure you FFXIV isn't doing that well in the west (maybe things are different in japan).

Also, please do not talk about business tactics when you re so gullible as to think increasing cash shop profits will increase FFXIV's budget.

I would like to know where you are getting these so called numbers of the active XIV population dropping as a result of the Heavensward content.

Well, proof is in the pudding. They've already told us Stormblood has 3x the budget as Heavensward. Do you want a photo of the interview? It'll last longer.

I'm not trying to white knight, I'm just trying to get into your head and find out how 3x budget, as well as cash shop obviously making profits is apparently a debilitating decision for the long run of XIV.

Lots of metrics show that. As the activity on the forums, activity on reddit, google trends under the FFXIV tags, number of concurrent viewers on twitch.

It's not a proof as a) the potion hasn't been implemented b) as I said people were leaving FFXIV. I know they are increasing FFXIV's budget, but you have to understand the reason they do this is to make people stick to the game, and it isn't linked to the cash shop profits. The fact that they targeted their communication on the aspects which didn't please the players in HW during the NA fanfest (amongst them, lack of storage space) reinforces that point.

Also, let me remind you we used to have 3 dungeons per patch at some point, which dropped to 2 over the course of HW.

I don't want to skip content, and I don't want anyone else skipping content either. However, the poor newbie who has to play through hundreds of story quests and misunderstood altaholic who doesn't want to play through it for the 3rd or 4th time are often brought up as reasons for a skip option.

If those concerns mentioned (especially the ones regarding new players) are valid, then charging for it shouldn't even be considered.
Not only does it go well beyond 'just cosmetic', it's literally progress for money, but the length and apparent tedium of 2.0 is so bad that it's driving away new players, if that's the case then it's imperative that skipping it be offered as an option to everyone. No one new is going to decide "2.0 sucks, best hand over another $30 to skip it, see if 3.0 sucks just as hard."

We used to have 3 dungeons, yes. We also didn't have Aquapolis, Lord of Verminion (Bad at the start but they fixed it by putting it in the DF), the GS TT Battlehall, Chocobo Race challenges, SSS dummies, Diadem (it was actually popular when it was new), The Feast, etc. Let's just act as if nothing new was introduced to XIV through 3.0 to 3.5, shall we?

So if the budget increase isn't due to cash shop sales, where did the money come from? Did it come from their asses?
