Time to improve texture work in the expansion pack

Yeah i totally agree. The textures look pretty awful. It's time to improve them. Look at the ground and armors it's horrible.

He wasn't saying it would drop support at any specific time, just that it was possible that it might happen in the future.

The PS3 will likely not get access to 4.0 areas and quests, but that isn't to say they will drop all support completely. They might just restrict access to those areas, but allow PS3 players to continue playing in ARR/HW areas.

Best case scenario for the complete drop of PS3 support would be to allow the transfer of the PS3 service account to either PC or PS4 depending on player preference. The problem therein lies with PS3 players with no PS4 and no PC with the hardware to handle games like XIV.

And they want to avoid outcry because of the dropping on the system. So until we get word from SE... We'll just have to wait and see.

I wouldn't mind if they did another PS4 upgrade campaign like they did with the PS4 version's release back in 2014 with the expansion to get as many people as they can off the PS3 so they can better justify dropping the support.
Even possibly letting people off PS3 to goto PC if they don't want to buy a PS4...

Totes! But, it's probably just going to be another case of the poorer customers having to pay more for things again. They'll most likely release a bundled version instead, or something similar.

Pretty much agree. The game really needs better textures on DirectX 9 and 11.

I'll be honest ps3 users are becoming few and far between I know may 3 people still on a ps3 right now anyway I don't see any reason to keep supporting it passed 4.0 I think no is the time to start phasing it out

To be exact, PS3 support is confirmed through the end of the 3.x series. Beyond that has not been announced yet. Not a definite yes or no. He was asked about this very recently and the answer is please wait for the announcement. Since they will be talking about 4.0 at fan fest, it is likely we will be told if PS3 is a supported platform for the expansion soon.
