You know would also blow minds? Glamour has a fair habit of being dyeable, solid pink Carby anyone? Maybe blood red? Just a minor hope seeing as the colors don't seem to be limited the blue/gold. I thought the black one was interesting but then a solid white, unless there is some kind of lore reason to it? Not saying the Egis should be dyeable but for carbuncle sure would be an interesting site.

if it's only glamour, then what would happen to the pet's skill animations? (especially enkindle)
are they going to stay the same?
would my emerald carby perform aerial blast?

When? Probably never. It's pretty clear to me that SE has basically abandoned the pet system at this point outside of anything glamour.

But, these aren't new summons. If anything, they are the final indicator that we will never get new summons.

I think it would be this as the different forms currently allow other party members to discern it's abilities, as egis don't shown on party lists unless it's yours.

I would be fine with this, myself.

Unless glamours are client side.

But, what could new summons do that isn't covered by the current ones? We have a buff healer, regen healer, melee DPS, ranged DPS, and tank....

A debuffer maybe, but SMN/SCH themselves have skills to cover that, so it would be redundant unless it was attached to another job, I think.

Literally, anything but a damage-on-hit-taken ally-applicable shield, a stun, a knockback, a self-AoE, a target-AoE, an enmity-enhanced-AoE, or self-mitigation for Summoner; or a AoE HoT, an AoE +%healing received buff, an AoE cleanse, or an AoE 3% attack speed buff at half-uptime for Scholar. That's a lot of options.

Oh, how I hope not. Then again with the whole Gauss Barrel being user only on the visual, guess it won't shock me if they do.

Back before much was known about HW, they said SMNs would be getting new pets. That sounded cool and all, but I was interested in what types of roles new egis would serve since we already had a melee, rangedDoT extender, and tank pet. So I think it was asked (I know I at least posed a related question in an 'Ask the Producer' thread) and then they back-pedaled and said new egis weren't going to be a thing and they decided it'd just be new glamours (as in, the remaining 3 elemental primals). I don't particularly blame them, as they pretty much designed themselves into a balancing nightmare, since there's still the whole "which DPS egi is more useful" thing going on between just 2 egis.

I can't help but /facepalm that this far into the expansion they are only letting us use ACN's pets' skins now on SMN (which, correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't take too much resources to have done?) and everything else looks like "TBA."
