1000 times this... this right here. Call the trait Flash Bomb pr Flash Burn. Make the damage equal to Unleash and the enmity boost from Shield Oath will do the rest.

But then it wouldn't be Flash would it? Flash is a traditional spell throughout the FF series whose sole purpose is simply to blind the enemy (in other words, it's a debuff spell, nothing more). Be thankful it's an enmity builder! It saddens me that there are so many so-called 'Paladins' here who are more interested in causing bloodshed than actually trying to protect their party members, all because their 'damage numbers' aren't as high as someone else.

Really, you want to do damage? Be a DPS. If you're a tank, then you should be tanking. If you're a PLD, your gimmick is high damage mitigation/debuffs and abilities that specialize at single targets. It's as simple as that.

Yeah Enkidoh that would be great but in reality outside of HG Paladin mitigation is not really much better at all when you factor in the other two's self healing capability in AoE situations. Plus if you wanted flavor for the lore (which clearly isn't priority for most players or the team) then just make the trait Holiest of Holy that adds damage.

Even paladins know that the best way to protect an ally is not just to shield them from blows, but to also kill the bastard trying to kill them in the first place. If you are only good at blocking the guy trying to kill your ally then you wont be able to protect your other allies from the rest of the enemy group. If you cannot protect your allies... then you are pretty bad as a tank.

Make circle of scorn recast 15s, the dot 25s or increase potency to 50.

Ah, 'good offense is the best defense' and all that? Sorry, I've never bought that as far as tanking goes - those who want tanks to deal high damage as well to me are usually just either a), fairweather tanks who only tank grudgingly to avoid long queues on Duty Finder/to get the 'adventurer in need' bonus for roulettes but really want to DPS.... or b), are extremely lazy DPSes who can't be bothered actually doing their own jobs and want others in the party to do it for them to allow them to slack off. It's just as bad as the idiots who demand healers DPS as well even while they're desperately trying to keep their party alive.

But whatever, I've said my opinion, take from it what you will.

Wow. Must be interesting playing a completely different game than the rest of us.

I know it would help a lot if shield oath was given to us at lvl 30. It makes no sense for Paladins to get their dps stance before their tank stance. And it makes those dungeons in between unlocking pld and getting shield oath a whole lot less painful.

Also...let plds cross class overpower. Warriors get to cross class flash and provoke, let plds get overpower.

I agree PLD is the most painful tank for pack, especially if you are a little undergeared than DPS (if they do their job properly) and don' t have the level for the Circle, they will steal agro.
Flash range seems to be a bit short.
There's no damage, then you don't have the inimity efficiency the other tanks have, plus flash consume a lot of MP and the rotation to gain PM neither generate good dps than inimity... for pack despite the fact Flash is mainly usefull only for pack. Solo rotation generate enough inimity in itself without the need of Flash. The DPS rotation doesn't generate full inimity either (but still is efficient enough for solo, but as soon as pack comes...).

Now, the problem sometimes comes from DPS who don't let the time to PLD to up his inimity (that grows pretty slower than others tanks before you get the Circle).
