This is a much needed feature, that wouldn't effect RMT at all.
Back when I played Aion, they gave you something like 5-10 slots of storage which was shared between all your characters on that server, as well as the ability to mail your alts. The RMT wasn't nearly so bad, either; you saw bots in secluded areas, and spammers in global chat, but you could right-click to report and block them, and it would be a while before new ones showed up.
Hmm. Ima make a thread on the Japanese forum later.
But since I don't know Japanese it'll be with interpretative images and arrows.
Yes, that's something I've been asking since the beginning but not only that they allow us to add our alts to the friends list but that they also allow us to directly share our personal cottage/house/mansion with all of our characters under the same account and server, just to begin with!...
I would also ask from the developers to create a system that allows us to switch instantly between our characters under the same account and server so we can have all the more fun, we could even trade between all of them and not have to log out first to switch alts, that system is old and obsolete when it can be done much better the way I propose!...
RMT!?... That has a simple solution, they are implementing "right-click report" in an upcoming patch, that should make it impossible for gil sellers to keep up with reports!...
I completely agree, there is no reason why we the player base shouldn't be able to have the convenience of being able to mail things back & forth to alts.
The excuse on SE's part about it being to prevent RMT from abusing it is nonsense considering nothing SE has done has had any effect on RMT other then making things harder for actual players.
If you aren't going to take RMT more seriously SE then let us be able to play the game the way we want...
I seriously hate having to inconvenience friends to receive and send stuff between my main and my alts. I bought a house, yet only my partner gets to have both his main and alt have residence? You think that's fair SE?
FFXI, a game released fourteen years ago managed to have this functionality. There's no excuse for not allowing us to add alts to the friends list. It's currently disabled and RMT are rampant on Ragnarok, so it's not really preventing RMT, is it?
Unlikely to happen, for pretty much exactly the reasons you WANT it to happen. SE wants everyone's inventory to be limited they way that it is limited. They don't want players to have mule characters, who exist to be extra storage space.
Any chance they might have changed their minds on this disappeared when they introduced the extra paid-for retainers. Now, if you want additional inventory, pay up.
Folks argue that you CAN use your alts as mules already, but it's awkward. That's exactly right: it's awkward, and that's just what SE wants, so that players will consider non-awkward ways to get extra space (e.g., buy their retainers).
It's not nice. It's not fair. But it's the way things are. Time to open up that wallet! Or, just get better at keeping your inventory clean of clutter...
