Idea for more fairness (New Housing Plots)

I get where you are coming from, and I was fortunate enough to have a house a very long time ago.

But such a system can never really be fair, if they implemented that then this exact thread would exist written by someone who works or has commitments at a weekend asking for it to be shielded until a weekday. Plus on that day where the shields come down it would resort to FFXI style button hammering to see who gets the claim on a plot first, with hundreds crashing the areas, then it would only favor those with extremely good connections and PS3/4 players would be screwed...

@pikster: So what would you suggest then? That is the only more or less suitable idea I can think of. Should we just be quiet? Should be accept that SE is unable to handle or even resolve this problem? Should we just hope that in 5 years when the game came out of style that we then are able to obtain a plot?

To note by the way, housing is MASSIVELY over rated, my garden has all the beastman furnishings and an unused stable, in fact the most use it gets is the FC opposite me who dont want a striking dummy using mine.

I go into my house purely to stop it demolishing so I can continue filling my basement with event furnishings.

Its not for me to suggest im afraid, im sure SE will look at the feedback, my point is though that there is NO FAIR way to do it. Other than the XI style housing where everyone has it, or wildstar style instances.

Make it so that you cannot purchase a plot if you already own one, make personal homes account wide per server, implement FC ownership only wards where the house on the plot can be upgraded from small>medium>large upgrade performed on server maint days. Also, multiple plots cannot be in an FCs name.

This way you stop the issue of one person owning most of a ward for flipping to make money. You also prevent that person from trying to circumvent the restriction through the use alts on the account to own more homes. You also prevent the same on the FC side of things, while giving FCs the expand-ability they need without having to move to larger plots.

First come first serve will still be an issue, the only way to "fix" that would be to instance the housing system entirely so that everyone in the game.

However as WoW's Warlords of Draenor showed is that such instancing will create the issue of not enough people venturing out into the open world. Since you can just stock your house with NPCs that sell most general things you need and a marketboard is a short teleport away. Just que for dungeons and raids from home while you send your retainers out of ventures like its WoW Garrisons.

Yeah well no offense piskter but it's private owners that are the issue, right now my FC is small and I can't even think about growing it because I have nothing to offer that other FC's with houses have to offer too. So housing should be prioritized to FC's first and then private owners who won't actually use their houses. Lowering the prices so anyone could get a small was a huge mistake it encouraged private ownership and house flipping to an extreme.

I like your ideas though some of them got mentioned before. True is that SE gotta do something about it and that this Problem and the obviously upcoming frustration with it gave my enthusiasm to play the game a real hard kick in the balls, thus not wanting to even log in for a few days.

This, along with multiple other claims of other such FC's or individuals buying an ungodly amount of plots have proven to be false.

Hi, here another legacy that plays since 1.0 and beta tester... also looking for a house since moment you added first plots and had been saving gils to buy a small or medium one (dont need a mansion) ages ago cause when got enough all old plots had been already full. And now when you finally added some more... All plots full in less than 3 mins really?! please... thats insane!
I'm working during week to gain some money and pay rigorous every month. I just arrived few mins ago from a hard day work and now I'm really disapointed and frustated cause of this...


I just have 2 questions for Square Enix at this point please...



Why you allow that same users could buy more than 1 private house even more if you having some data center space problem?

What can we do now all this people like me in stead of waiting few more years to have another chance to get a house without having to miss work day and without spending crazy prices rebuying one from speculators!?
