Patch 3.3 is called Revenge of the Horde...

I don't get any of this..lol then again never touched WoW

I found the exchange between the two community accounts to have been entertaining.

It's funny when people think that the social network team is also part of the team that works on a game. Well, it possibly could be with XIV, but with Blizzard, there's at least two teams that work* on content for WoW, alternating between teams working on live content while the other team works on the upcoming expansion. That's in addition for separate teams for social media and community. And that's just for WoW.

*I use the term "work" very loosely here, as a selfie cam is NOT content.

One of the 2 original factions in WoW is the horde, which should explain the slight sense of amusement and surprise that FFXIV called their new patch that way ;)

It was funny to say the least, that WoW thought they could be all sly like that, thinking they trademarked the term horde. *rolls eyes*

We don't really know for sure that WoW is bleeding more % of their subs than FFXIV is :\

Also WoW's sub base is still well above FFXIV

A joke loses it's title when the initial throw wasn't as funny as the audacity behind it.

To be honest, I have no idea what you are trying to argue. That said, I found it to be quite funny - and that it made perfect sense as The Horde is a fairly iconic thing from Warcraft which is the leading game in the genre.

I also saw those replies. I thought a lot of them were funny. The salty ones were not quite so much. I really liked the one from League =)

Yes, Horde is a term that WoW uses, but it's a regular term meaning a group of people.

At least to me, it came off like WoW was saying, "You're using our word in your title?"
