Yeah, I thought you could fight them in any order? The final dungeon wasn't linear in VI, you switched parties at will.
Maybe I'm misremembering though, it's been a while.
I think Zurvan might be saved for 3.4 to complement the finale to Alexander.
Pretty sure you could fight the Triad in any order in Kefka's Tower. Each team just had to reach one and defeat it.
The final Statue of Gods that you fight/climb to engage Kefka is supposedly a representation of the Triad. Apparently, according to the Official Nintendo Strategy Guide, the order of of the tiers is Demon, Goddess and then Fiend. However, visually that seems way off and I doubt that's correct.
I agree with this:
But it's hard to say for sure.
I know you weren't being serious, but being the party pooper I am, I just want to remind you that Sephirot is done. You defeated the real Sephirot in the "hard" mode of the encounter. The "extreme" mode is Allagan technology that manifests an artificial incarnation of Sephirot for "combat simulation".
We'll probably face Sophia last in the Warring Triad story.
I actually went scouring through all of Unukalhai's dialogue to see if he mentions the three in any particular order, but nope. Not once. It's always "Warring Triad" and "eikon" in every mention, with no informal use of their titles until "Fiend" was used in his own quest.
You're clever, SE, catching that before I can even look for it.
The Godess Eikon could also be benevolent but destructive like Ramuh. The aether sucking aspect would make us fight, but she would give us advice or negotiate with us. It could also be she is enemies to the Demon as well, giving way to the final fight.
