Problem with Duty forced into Expansion Content...

This is true, however people do flag for roulettes. The wait times shouldn't be too horrible because of this, and people doing relics will be happy for the tome bonus you bring. :)

In my opinion, Group Content should never be a barrier to enjoying the overall story of an MMO. Such group content and waiting around breaks up momentum and kinda makes people lose interest, especially if they have to spend 30 minutes in a group finder to get to the next part.

There are plenty of Final Fantasy titles that are not online if playing entirely alone is your forte. FF 14 is a game made for its FF fans that want to play with other people for the most part. You can still do 90% of its content solo and play other aspects of the game while you wait for the wait in the duty finder queue.

you are Lucky if it is only 30mn waiting time. As a healer, I tried to do Ramex, I waited 6+h in order to get a queue, I went to bed (EURO zone time queued) woke up 6+h later I was STILL Queuing.

So yes I agree with OP in this. There is a content that forces you to play with people, no problem there, BUT when none of those people are interested in playing that old content, including your FC members and friends, then what ? you are left with waiting and waiting and waiting.

They finally removed with this patch the mandatory steps that forced you to have finished almost all primals to move to the next one but it remains, not because it needs people that people will run those stuff espcialyl if they are well passed these.

Recently, I wanted a mailbox for the house that myself and my Partner share, for that I needed the King Mog's moustace,whiskers, I queued several times I only managed to enter it 1 with my Partner. apart that, no luck whatsoever. Finally my Partner managed to get it for me (bless him) with his friends. It should not be this way.

Material is also locked behind those primals and the like, and people that needs those materials for crafting or whatever or whatever cant get it because nobody is runing those anymore

It would be good if a change happened, waiting half a day for just 1 attempt and maybe not even finishing it because people leave, is just discouraging.

never do extremes with DF. Extremes (especially if you want it properly done and not unsync) are not pug material. Best bet is to find linkshells/ FCs that do it. Mine used to invest the time to down primals the proper way, but it got too time consuming for people after a few months of that, so now we unsync for each other.

when you have noboy in a DF you really think you have people in PF? you dreaming right ? all my primals without exception were done via DF is not a problem, IF people do them, when they came out there were no problem for those, because they actually were run by peple. Today they are NOT run by people not even in PF, at least when I am around.

So the *never PUG* is a mute point, when even your friends dont do them as it is no fun to run those old content...yeah that point

where did I suggest PF? It's FCs and Linkshells.
And that being said you're very obviously on a low pop server, because PF does unsync runs on Odin all the time for bonus and ponies. Proper runs like I said are harder to find, however we still have some linkshells here that deal with it, or at least dealt with like like a month or two ago.
