Its a BIG drop in damage for a warrior HOLY crap. Going from 1k attack damage down to 840, HOLY crap pvp is gonna suck now <.<:

That was one of my speculations. Part of it was that all +Str would go down and all +Vit would go up if it were 1/2 the value combined. Leaving total Atk about 1/2 the difference between Str and Vit. The smaller the difference between Vit and Str the more optimal the Atk value.
However currently, with 914 atk and 914 Str and 910 Vit before, on War its now 820. Swapping out two i210 slaying accessories with i210 fending raised my Attack to 822 with a boost in hp.I'm almost certain if I could swap the two fending pieces I currently have it would go up by the same amount.(Edit: Not quite)
By practicality Vit gives more bang for the buck with the HP boost and higher stat on tanks. While Str is only as good as the secondary stats.
This needs more Math people to figure out a proper ratio or to confirm that its a moot thing now.
EDIT:
Just did the math and its adding up correctly for my current build. Although I cant tell if it sould just stick with full 100% Vit or how much +Str can Tanks have before the return is diminished.
EDIT #2:
Paladin was 871 Str and 914 Vit for 802 Atk. My Attributes was +5 str and +30 Vit. With the same 2 fending and 3 slaying i210 acc that all my thanks share. I reallocated Attributes to full +35 Vit and my Atk went down -5str and -30vit, but then back to 802 with +35 Vit. Right now that 5 point move from Str to Vit gave the exact same Atk value of 802. I might as well just go all Vit unless math says otherwise.
Edit #3
Swapped a 200 slaying ring for a 190 fending. +43 Str v's +40 Vit was 1 point of Atk in favor of +3 Str over the Vit on the proto Gordian ring. The difference might be small but since I no longer have a i200 Fending ring to test. I am almost sure +Vit on a Fending Accessory of equal ilevel with +str Slaying Accessory is about a 1 Attack point difference for Vit. As a matter of fact Fending will give +1 more Atk over slaying. So far Fending seems to be barely ahead of Slaying on Tanks, but again that leaves the secondary like +Crit and +Det.
But if you can't meld any more +vit to fending then it seems +str would be the alternative.
759x + 1106y = 838
994x + 861y = 834
solve for x and y
its too late I can't do math at the moment
edit
ok i just did it, its .45 for x and y
so whoever said its .45 for both is right.
Assuming .45 AP per point for VIT and STR (sounds right to me), is it possible to look at the stats on Lore/Midas gear and calculate how much AP we'll have by the end of it? I'll prob do that later if no one can be bothered, curious to see where we'll sit at by the end of this ilvl increase.
e: Realized people are probably actually doing stuff in the patch so I'll just do it myself later lol

1020 STR, 1395 VIT
459+628 = 1087
At full i240 with STR melds, our AP will be 42 points above what full STR was at the end of 3.1.
Commence the QQ.
Cool that we at least make it back to where we were. Sucks our damage had to be cut so hard but I guess it had to be done. Hopefully Savage stuff makes use of all this VIT.
Oh, yeah, just remembered:
Did food change? Still give +VIT?
