I've never understood why we couldn't have a conversion skill: x number of shards -> y number of crystals -> z number of clusters and back the other way

I for one would love the ability to smash, say, 10 Crystals down into 20 or 30 Shards. Or 5 Clusters down into 10 Crystals.

I am fine, though, with no ability to fuse them together into higher level items.

Yes - would be sooo helpful to be able to reduce crystals/shards. Maybe a 1 crystal - 10 shards and 1 cluster - 10 crystals - 100 shards.

Way too high conversion rate. Would rather see more like 1 cluster > 3-5 crystal > 5-10. Cause really 100 shards for 1 cluster? Do 3 2/8 to get clusters and crystals = no need to get more shards for 5 months.

Well I expected some rng in that conversion rate but yeah that sounds more reasonable - and tbh you still won't need to get more shards for half a year at that rate hehe but that's a good thing imho!

Shards don't bother me. I just buy them off the MB. Laziness FTW! It's freakin' crystals that get me. Certain, specific crystals, that is. I'm rolling in the fire crystals. I literally almost never use them yet it seems like most of the mining eph's give only fire crystals. I have thousands. Wind and Water crystals are the bane of my existence. And trying to farm them? Oh lord, just kill me.

Hang on, if meth is based on your overall perception score...and all you do is meth and you get dawnborne or the exclusive items? What's your perception score? Lol it must be WAY higher than mine. I still have to use Utmost Caution and Single Mind to get anything.

Meth-meth-meth gets you crystals and possibly clusters, which many consider valuable enough to be worth bothering to collect.

That said, I'm usually after landborn/leafborn. so if I don't see at least the 97% rare item (and usually if I don't see the 95% item) I just close the ephermeral node, go open/close two other nodes to respawn the ephermeral node, and try again until the 95% (or 97% if time is running out) shows up. You do not have to mine the ephemeral to respawn it.
