Aetherial sands

Hello all,

I have a question about Aetherial sands. How the heck do you get those ? I mean I have a skill that technically allows me to do so on collectible from what it says but ..it never works or I miss something .

Can someone tell me how that works please ?

Which sands are you trying to get dusk, dawn, or land/leaf.sea? Advice changes a little for each.

1. Go to the ephemeral node
2. Make sure collectible is on
3. If neither hidden item is there, just meth, meth, meth collect no GP used. Respawn node

I use meth once then collect 3x. Instead of getting ~20 crystals and ~20 clusters, you end up with ~60 crystals. There's also zero chance of getting that worthless dusk sand.

Dusk sand has a few uses. I mean, I still sell it for a good price so it must, right?

it pretty worthless on balmung, sells for like 100 gil.

Hang on, if meth is based on your overall perception score...and all you do is meth and you get dawnborne or the exclusive items? What's your perception score? Lol it must be WAY higher than mine. I still have to use Utmost Caution and Single Mind to get anything.

Meth-meth-meth gets you crystals and possibly clusters, which many consider valuable enough to be worth bothering to collect.

That said, I'm usually after landborn/leafborn. so if I don't see at least the 97% rare item (and usually if I don't see the 95% item) I just close the ephermeral node, go open/close two other nodes to respawn the ephermeral node, and try again until the 95% (or 97% if time is running out) shows up. You do not have to mine the ephemeral to respawn it.

No, he does not get dawnborne from methx3. That's just what he does for the level 56 item, which yields crystals, clusters, and possibly duskborne. I don't think it's worth it though. I'd rather just Methx1 and collect 3. Gives more crystals, but no clusters or duskborne. Or you can just skip it completely if you're only aiming for the good stuff.
