Paladins technically have the weakest aoe in the game, the idea behind Paladin tanking is that you use your aoe for initial hate gen to ramp up, then you mix in your combos alternating targets. But gear is very important for keeping hate, you should always gear up your weapon first
Also another thing, are there any leveling tips? Cause going from 1 to 60 is a huge drag on dps especially with those dungeon ques..
You could go WAR and be tank and dps at the same time. They have no problems with aggro as far as I've heard.
yeah the summoners got a huge burst boost with the 50+ skills. They outdamage every other cls in aoe dps now even Blackmages... :3
Deathflare hits every mob without loosing % at the 2nd+ target. Not to mention, that micro-managing your egi is very funny at least for me.
And best of all: you'll get your SCH as a bonus without even taking a single step into a dungeon while leveling the SMN ^^
It depends on the context of gear. i140 Tank VS i210 DPS would have issues holding hate. But within 30-40 ilvls shouldn't be an issue.
If you gear isnt that low then it could be a coordination issue. PLD is the easiest tank skill wise
FoF -> Shield Lob to draw mobs -> Flash + CoS -> Flash
Then just maintain aggro by cycling through mobs with aggro or dps combos.
Any DPS will have a higher skill curve than that. Support has to pull high numbers while keeping track of party resources.
I would also suggest Ninja, at least give it a try to see if it suits you
They can all be used in endgame and it's better to have a class you play well and enjoy than a slightly more in-demand class that you resent or are bored with. Go with what works. Test out your options. Change your mind. It's all fine.
Honestly, many classes play off each other. Leveling DRG forced me to think in terms of off-GCDs, which improved my BRD. Better rhythm and comfort with timing from BRD improved my BLM play to the point that I no longer hated it and picked it up as my second main.
