Can't say for the other items, but the Pterodactyl related items are quite common.

Yeah, that's almost 3 times as many pterodactyls as are available on Diabolos. Those are the hardest ones to get since they're from fishing, so I expect the others are relatively more common on Tonberry, too. That likely plays a part in things.

I purchased the relic items for 2-3 people, including myself.

I never even hit 8m cost. Yeah, I'd just find crafters who may do it for a small fee, or something. If not.. check back after you've done the tome portion/check regularly to see if the price has dropped etc.

On Cerberus i payed 2.1 million for all 16 HQ items.

Wow, those items cost that much in your server? Over in Tonberry, you can get everything for under 2 million, lol.

Well yah but you need 4 of each item HQ so that sums some gil. Just add up. In Sargatanas its about 4m-5m in total roughly said. Which at least is slightly better than 8m from Siren.

In Coeurl, your not buying all 4 set for less than 8mil at the moment if you go the Market Board route.

Did no one do their zeta? The materia required easily exceeded 8 mil if you were current on it. Or is the real complaint that you don't have a cheap option like parry on a blm staff? The gil cost on this step is nothing new. All of the histrionics about unsubbing over including crafting is ridiculous. Gil is not hard to make. You'd easily have 8 mil if you utilized retainer ventures and didn't spend 1 mil a week on glamour prisms. Go do a 4 man whisker farm. Level your crafts to 30 through GC turn ins and work on desynth.

Or hell, go level your gatherers and get your own mats. People will craft them for you on the cheap if you have the mats, if they don't just do it for free. The quest text straight up tells you to work with other people. If you're buying straight from the MB you're doing it wrong.
