As a general rule, I think it's unacceptable for a person whose level rack is a universal row of 50s to dictate the rules that average players should have to conform to for exp gain.
No offense.

Think that is nowhere in their ideal level rate for this game. Yoshi speaks of wanting his new friends who play this game to be able to catch up at a reasonable rate to get through fun content. What you speak, as far as I can see, is something akin to a much more hardcore level scheme.
This game needs to still be accessible and allow people to feel like they can progress reasonably (i.e. not a level in an hour or even a day but at least fairly quick) without exponentially increasing xp gain needed.
I just can't see that ever coming into play with the aspirations of the ff14 development team nor would anyone who has a: job, family, friends, work, etc and wants to play this game be able to enjoy that.
im not looking for hardcore grinding.leveling
but something alot more reasonable then a single hour to gain the final level you need to cap
time needed to level should increase the higher you get, but there is a point where the mechanic behind it is obviously broken
at 100k exp an hour, which is what alot of people can easily get with a half decent group, you reach cap in about 19 hours from level 1
thats WAY too fast by any mmo standard, and yoshi was looking at it taking at least a month or 2 for people to cap(which is also the standard for mmos in general, not counting hardcore players)
the exp gain rate was fine pre 1.19, 30k an hour(we just needed more damn camps honestly), and now that we have a ton more camps, the exp rate increase on top of it just makes it too easy if anything
I did over 400k exp in half a day, and it was really great, i don't see why exp should be lowered where there's no real content for a low lvl.
Plus, it's a good thing, because having a lot of R50 will help you greatly on your main class having a lot of sub skills.
Remember also, when Jobs will come out, there is no exp to lvl them, only quest.
And it isn't 1k/mobs, it's mostly 400~600 with a normal group, with a good group, you can reach 800~ and if you have a powerfull group, it's 1k/mobs. Atleast under R40, after you can be PL probably by some R50.
I'm in agreement with Vedis and Solace on this one. It may seem nice to level up so quick but its just not good for the game. I went from 45 to 49 arc in natalan in less than two hours. That span is like 25% of your entire xp requirement to hit max level in this game. Two hours, really? Just no. It's not right and it's bad for the health of the game. It needs addressing.
I say keep the EXP how it is, but i do not agree on the 200k 300k 400k thing. That means that from 50-60 you'd need 7.7million EXP, thats equal to 4 50's lol......
Might as well put a little message on the title like Minecraft saying "Not for Casual Players".
Levelling is pointless and thinking its anything more than just prolonging your game-time is stupid. It does not mean anything.
I just joined Istory and got 1-50 in 4 days. This means I can now enjoy the game, I can play with my friends, I can go do Ifrit, I can have fun, because I havent had to do the same boring ass shit repeatedly over. I havent had to waste 2 months (Im casual) to level up.
I joined and can have fun right away thanks to this system, I doubt SE want to ruin that.
If you want to slow your EXP down, you can choose to, dont force it on everyone else, thats just selfish.
I think the age of grindfest MMORPGs is past. I think 1-50 is just fine, but when they increase the cap I hope the new levels take a lot more. like 49-50 is 100k, I'd expect 59-60 be something like 500k. Either that or slightly reduce the amount of exp players are getting from monsters and increase quest exp.
