Not the time to charge, cya in 2013...

I hope that one of the features they'll give us when they'll start charging will be the ability to downvote silly posts in the forums.

They have plenty "right" to charge for the game. It's their game, if you didn't notice. if you feel "insulted" becaue a company is daring to charge for offering a product that you use, then I'm afraid that the problem is not in the company.

The game has been free for a year.
It was no secret that this game was P2P.
After the first free month, if a person doesn't like an MMO they make the decision to play or not play.
The announcement that SE will begin charging is not an insult.
Anyone who has complaints that SE will begin charging soon is either being cheap or emotional.
I'll pay, because I believe in the direction this game is headed.
I'll pay, because I understand that nothing is free, and it's unreasonable for me to expect FFXIV to be an exception.

You will be getting a $50 game for free when they put version 2 online for free download for people who bought the original. If you don't want to pay now then don't. I'm sure SE doesn't care. You will come back when they offer you that shiny new v2 for free with a new trial.

I think we do. You're going to be paying for a game that is 50% complete. How do you justify that?

Would you pay for FF13-2 to come out 50% complete and "enjoy" it? Probably not. I realize that some people want to pay to support the games development into the wonderful concept that we've just been introduced to. However when it comes down to it, you're going to be paying probably 120 dollars for a 50% unfinished product, plus whatever you spent on retail.

If anything they need to charge us only half price, like 6 dollars. I'd gladly subscribe for that amount. Or start the subscription later in the future -- like the summer after the server fixes get implemented so we can actually have meaningful gameplay.

You're not getting a new 50 60 dollar game for free. Its the game we should have gotten for 90 dollars at launch. Don't be delusional.

I'm going to pay for a game that is fun. actually more fun than a lot of others whose developers state that they are "100% complete". That's how I justify that, and that's what logic dictates.
