Curaga draw way too much hate!

I don't see how it's an issue if only some people are pulling hate with cures alone though.

Out of Sight - ARC L30 Bought.

Get them, love them, use them.

Also as a lot of others have pointed out, generally don't need Curaga I or II, only between fights. If you have a really good tank it is possible to use it without getting hate.

Why do you need to use Curaga though? Between Cure III and Cure II you shouldn't need to spam Curaga. For mob linking tank a MRD might be a better tank than a GLA, should be able to keep hate way more than Curaga with Storm Path and stuff. Boss tanking is even less of a reason to use Curaga.

The only time I ever need to use Curaga is either during Stronghold ( When my tank is doing his job and pulling a lot of enmity)


Or during Ifrit, Where my tank is once again doing his job and keeping aggro quite easily.

If you're going to use Curaga (II) like a normal Cure over and over again, then yes, you're going to pull hate (and a lot of it). You're healing everyone in range for quite a bit of HP.

Use Cure, Cure II, and Cure III (plus the Sacrifice spells if you have them) to keep your party healed and use your AoEZOMGmassheal Curaga (II) when you're in a pinch and your entire party needs a heal.

Your tank SHOULD be good enough to keep hate off of you with single target Cure spells.

Nothing changed about them. I don't have Firm Conviction equipped atm but I do have Fastcast and Out of Sight equipped on both my THM and CNJ.

Who says we've been spamming it? I use Curaga once when everyone is getting pretty low on health and then I suddenly become a beacon for almost every mob currently in combat. I never use it twice or more in a row.

Well then your tanks need to tank better

I've recently picked up mage classes, and yesterday I played Conjurer in a 4-people party with my linkshell. Yes Curaga II pulls a lot of hate, so I avoid using at at all cost. I think, however, it's still manageable. I always used Soughspeak before using Curaga II if I MUST use Curaga. I just take care not to buff/heal people before tank ensure that they have enmity on all of the mobs including the link/add/aggro ones.

Playing mage is not easy, especially for me because I am a melee kind of player. But I did find out that Stoneskin and Shock Spikes help a great deal! Stoneskin helps a great deal and I stick to using Sacrifice II from THM, while spamming Stoneskin AoE on all melee. Sometimes I still had to throw in Cure II, though. And yeah during downtime either due to pulling distance or mob's spawn delay, I would use Spiritsong and spam all kinds of healing magic including Curaga II if everyone need a big chunk of HP. I am a scared mage, so I tried to play safe that way.
