Foe was probably for the healer, who should have been dpsing for sure if possible with the bards being that bad.
Not playing WM was probably because the bards wanted to "stick it to the man", let SE know they don't like it, by screwing their group over while SE will never even know the situation happened, making their efforts or lack thereof for nothing. Which is a subset of bad because plenty of bards are doing fine with WM. If they don't want to use WM, they should learn to play another job. Continuing to play BRD but refusing to use WM is like a BLM refusing to use any Fire skill, bad bad bad.
On the one hand, i don't agree. On the other...
If I MET an ice mage, or a tank that couldn't hold their aggro, I'd probably just talk to them instead of,ranting on the forums about how individuality is a sham and we must all be and do the same in lockstep.
If i met a bard that did 1000dps, I'd proabably not notice. Sorry brds.
so now bards that do 1000 dps are as bad as ice mages or tanks that are in dps stance all the time, a fresh 60 bard that maybe is even still learning how the rotation works (WM changes the whole rotation), or maybe he feels so undergeared and useless that keeps using TP or MP song so at least bring something to the table.
Obvious troll is obvious
1000 DPS is pretty damn good for a bard who may be popping on ballad occasionally. That's the goal I strive for and only attention during large groups of crunchy mobs.
Now, a bard doing 500 DPS at 60 clearly never upgraded their gear, and a bard doing 400 isn't even trying.
Meta has nothing to do with being good or not. And before you say anything. I do follow some kind of meta, but not blindly.

I agree and I disagree. I agree that at 60, if you're at the minimum iLV for a dungeon and play well that it's no big deal that you're at minimum iLV. You could be trying to get dungeon gear, it's your first 60, etc. As long as you play decently, most people don't get their panties in a wad. (If they do, they probably have other issues than this game.)
I disagree with every other situation though. I shouldn't go into Haukke Manor story mode on SMN and have more HP than the tank because they don't want to upgrade their armor.
