Like I said I switched from Botanist while I was out gathering so not instant skills via the Sanctuary Resting spots so my cooldowns reset. I only had my Heals, Protect, Stoneskin, Divine Seal, and Regen up. Sorry I don't finally remember but I did cast Regen on the Tank but it wasn't doing any good.

I was so concern with healing I didn't pop in the Divine Heal to buff my Heals a bit. Plus my TP was barely at 300 TP when we started and the Tank ran off and I too worried when I saw the big pulls the she was doing that it slipped my mind to use Sprint even for like 10 seconds of running. The Tank had Protect on herself before we entered the dungeon or casted it herself while she was in the dungeon but was the only one. Forgot who was with us as DPS so I can't comment on them, though they were getting some hits on them and I took a few myself from a stray mob.

You would think after the first wipe take it easy... nope ran off up ahead.

Honestly that's the first time I've EVER came across a Tank like this, most of the time I usually find very friendly and well-paced Tanks in Roulette. Sometimes they do a big pull but are nice enough to wait for me to cast Protect and SS and keep close to the party even when they don't say anything about big pull runs. I'm OK with this, not what I encountered this morning.

The tank was impatient and she should have waited for protect at least. I'd like to correct another post which claimed 18% mitigation from protect which is purely untrue at best protect gives 6-7% mitigation.

Nevertheless, I think you're at fault too. You seem too fixated on Benediction but on trash pulls you don't need it in fact you shouldn't need it. If your normal heals can't offset the incoming damage, then a single or even 2 Benediction won't help much. The tank used Hollowed Ground which should have given you enough time to top her HP but it seems you missed your chance. You said the mobs were 20% HP so basically you managed to keep your tank alive for a good time and it seems to me that you derped here rather than your tank.

Just a garbage tank is all. No worries.

As a tank I only pull mass when there is no level sync. Usually when lvled sync I will take my time and wait for the healer to give me the go to pull more. I never eat more than I can handle.

I've been a tank for 10 years on WOW until I decided to cancel sub. I also tanked in FF11 as a WAR/NIN. And I've been fully a paladin (only class I play so far in FF14). I'm telling you this so I hope to give a genuine opinion on this matter.
Everytime I tank, I never pull mass when I team up with players that I don't know. I only pull mass when I team up with people that I know or I have ever played with. I like to rush a bit but only if the surrounding are safe enough around everyone : after all, as a tank, we are supposed to engage the battlefield first but we are also the last one to leave it. Then again, as a healer, you have to, at times, give the rythm of the run : you are the healer so you are mostly the one to tell that you can be able to resist any kind of stress. Yet that tank was supposed to see that too. So he sounded to confident for his own good. But is it proper to actually punish the other players because of that tank ?

Just a bad tank. Move on.

I would have immediately called out the tank on this. This is your first red flag that the tank thinks the party should cater to them just because the role is in demand. I have no problem kicking a bad or toxic tank.

You just got a bad, incompetent tank. That's all.

In short, sounds like you got someone who doesn't deserve to tank. I hate to say such a thing, but I cannot stand players that do not consider their party members like that. Coming from someone who mains healer, if a tank runs off before I can cast my buffs, they're in their own. It doesn't mean I won't heal them, but I'll certainly be spending more time DPSing and healing other party members. The same goes for tanks who pull bosses/mobs before I can equip new gear after a loot drop or who constantly pull huge mobs when I have virtually no MP.

That's when I start letting their health fall into the danger zone before healing. And if they get upset, they die. :)
