Until you get undercut anyway *shrug*
1) You are out adventuring in the fields, you can't be sitting in a shop selling stuff at the same time. That's why when you call your retainer your items are temporarily pulled from the Market.
3) It's the same as IRL, some shops only sell in bulk and are cheaper (per item) because of it. Others sell piece by piece, and are more expensive. The same stuff usually happens on the Market board.
The only real problem I see in this is food. But I only bother using it in hard content so doesn't bother me that much.
Its kinda why I love going to the Market board and selling when I see everyone posting in stacks of 50 or 99. I post in stacks of 10 and they are gone instantly. More so when crystals or clusters are in stacks of 300, so I do 30. When it comes to market board changes, I would love to just type part of the item in and get all items containing it, not have to get the prefix and all correct too. It annoys me I cant just type "felt" and get Chimera felt and others as an option.
taking away market versatility (i put up 20 items but you can buy just what you need) would have a huge impact on every single server. Undercutting would sky rocket because you are now competing to sell everything at a x1 cost. It's pretty much like buying in bulk for a huge discount except you no longer have to buy the bulk but still get the discount.
But +1 for the search tool upgrades.
The one thing I would like to see is an adjustment to retainers as the only entity that can list items. The problem with retainers is that it keeps the real seller anonymous. If we must use retainers to list things on the MB, you should be able to "click through" on the name of the retainer and see who they report to.
+1 to AlphaFox regarding improving the MB search function. They should implement the exact algorithm used by XIVDB.
If the stack is too big I usually just won't buy it at all. I'll wait til there's a single up or I'll ask someone in my fc if they've got one.
I need one glamour prism, not three, dangit! >.>
That was one of the things I liked about WoW's AH. Remote auction was pretty nice.
I also liked Aion's, after they made some changes to it. Better search functions + the ability to buy one from a stack (no more spending 7 million kinah for a stack of 200 manastones to fill my last 2 slots woo!). It was just more user friendly.
Why do we need retainers to list items? Why not have certain NPCs that can do it for us? That whole part seems silly. We interact with an NPC and it goes directly to selling items from our inventory.
