This game is turning into even more of a mindless grind....

At 40 you will only be there for exp, which is why I said camp at the gate, would love to see an army of 40s charge in and try to get though though lol Anyone who thinks the game is a "mindless grind" doesnt think out side the box because the strongholds are one of the most fun exp spots I have seen in this game.

People act like leveling up is the main content of this game. Hell, every single MMO I played has a boring grind to level up, this includes the great WoW. Yes you can do it in different ways in WoW, but non requires any kind of skill. You kill 10 of this, 10 of that,15 of those and you level up.

you obviously didnt play when 30k per hour was amazing SP. They give you 2times quicker XP gain and you complain?

and that's not even considering being able to get from 1 to 30 in a day no problem with powerleveling.

yes i complain... because it makes the game pointless
theres nothing special about being max level , you can do it in a week or 2 now.
FFXI had it right.

You could do it in a week or 2 before this patch too...

And yeah there are challenges in this game particularly Ifrit fight at the moment. Very, very, very few people have beat it. Why? because it is challenging content. There is a lot of gear to get, there is a lot of materia to try and obtain. There is the joy of going through the beastman strongholds and the satisfaction of beating an NM and knowing that when you get 1 class to 50 you will have all of those abilities to make the next one even easier to level up. Maybe it's just the people you are playing with that make it a grind. I always enjoy leveling up with the people I do because I am playing a game I like that keeps getting better and playing with my friends who are great to talk to.

EDIT: After 1.19 I have had waaayyyy too much to do in game to be bored. And you can get 1 to 95 in like a week in FFXI so good job on the reference.

There was nothing special about being max level back then either. Arguably, it was even worse because there was nothing to do once you got there. I just don't understand the need to feel like everything you do in a video game is an accomplishment. I realize people do play for that reason, but it boggles my mind. Play to have fun. If it stops being fun, take a break. This isn't rocket science.

I am having more fun than ever, just forming a group of cool people and taking down some monsters. I honestly have never had so much fun leveling a low level character, maybe now I will get around to leveling even more classes up.

I hope they don't change it, I am for the first time having fun leveling a character simply by grinding mobs with no real objective other than leveling up.

Before the Patch: 8 people run around killing Raptors. However, the three Melee never get to touch the raptors because the 3 Archers don't wait for the melee to engage. The raptors die before the GLA even touches the raptors. (Me) So what's difrent? Xp is easier to get? Things won't change until they disallow 8 people zerg groups.

I think they should offer players the choice whether they want to start at LV50 or not.
Perhaps it's a matter of personal preference (or intellectual refinement); but I also played
in a PT today, and for me spamming the same weaponskills every 10 seconds got boring
pretty, pretty, pretty fast.

You want to feel special in a game because you subjected yourself to months of extended torment and others didn't. You have a problem, seek help.
